Crytek’s Senior Cinematic Artist experiments with photorealistic textures in CRYENGINE

Crytek’s Senior Cinematic Artist, Joe Garth, has been experimenting with some leaves from Quixel Megascans in CRYENGINE, and shared some screenshots showcasing them. This scene was very light as it featured a few assets and very low amount of drawcalls/polygons, which is why it was running with more than 100fps (though we do not know the specs of the PC used). Here is your first look at STALKER being recreated in CRYENGINE

Achieved with Cryengine is currently working on a STALKER fan remake in CRYENGINE. CRYENGINE 5.3 with Vulkan support coming in mid-November, CRYENGINE 5.4 will support DX12 mGPUs

Crytek revealed today that CRYENGINE 5.3 will be available in mid-November. CRYENGINE is still capable of producing incredible visuals

Once upon a time, CRYENGINE was considered a video-game engine with a lot of potential. Things have changes though. Nowadays, we’ve got a lot of engines powering games that perform well and look great. REDEngine 3, Frostbite 3 and id Tech 6 are just some of them. Still, CRYENGINE can produce some really amazing scenes as showcased by CRYENGINE members enes77, evgeny83 and neverfollow81 (as a bonus we’ve also included Crytek’s Damian Stempniewski Forest Map). 3D artist attempts to show that Unreal Engine 4 can top CRYENGINE’s Jungle/Forest environments

It’s well known that CRYENGINE has powered some of the best Jungle/Forest environments to date. However, Unreal Engine 4 is an engine that can easily come close to – or even top – them. Following the incredible environments from Unreal Engine member ‘koola’, 3D artist ‘Dimitrius Tott’ has showcased some awesome forest environments in Unreal Engine 4.
