Back in February, we informed you about the classic Fort map from the first Far Cry game being recreated in CRYENGINE. During these months, Julian White has been working on his project. As a result, this project has gotten bigger as it now features the Fort and Pier levels combined into a singular open-world island. Fan Recreates Scene From Star Wars: Battlefront In CRYENGINE
CRYENGINE member ‘currve‘ has decided to recreate a scene from Star Wars: Battlefront in CRYENGINE. Star Wars: Battlefront is powered by DICE’s Frostbite 3 engine, and the following comparison shows some of the differences between these two engines. In case you’re wondering, we believe that the Frostbite 3-powered version looks bettter. Do note, however, that Star Wars: Battlefront was created by a triple-A team, whereas the recreation was made by an individual fan. It’s a pretty cool comparison, so go ahead and take a look! Crytek has released a new version of CRYENGINE to all interested developers. As the press release reads, the release of CRYENGINE 3.8.1 adds Oculus Rift support to the engine, granting both full licensees and Engine-as-a-Service subscribers equal access to the new VR toolset.
