Perfect World Entertainment has released some PAX screenshots – and a trailer – for its upcoming free-to-play MMORPG, Neverwinter. The publisher has also confirmed an early 2013 release date for Neverwinter, providing developer Cryptic Studios even more time to add additional content and extra features that the developer team would love to have at launch. Cryptic Studios has released a massive new patch for their sci-fi MMO, Star Trek Online. Star Trek Online turned two years old and Cryptic is still supporting it, and get ready because the changelog for this new patch is huge. Among other things, Cryptic has fixed the black texture issue that plagued the game’s DX11 mode and Silver Accounts can now trade bridge officers to Gold Accounts. Great news for MMO fans as Cryptic has set a launch date for Star Trek Online to become Free-to-Play (F2P), and that date is Tuesday January 17, 2012. In addition, Cryptic will be starting the Gold member stipend benefit on December 1st. This benefit grants 400 free Cryptic Points each month to each subscriber to STO. During the Perfect World’s latest earnings conference call, chief financial officer Kelvin Lau revealed that Star Trek Online’s free-to-play version is slated for release at the end of this year. In addition, Kelvin believes that this free-to-play model will help the company as they will have a bigger potential in US market and also in China market.
