A while back, we informed you about the day-one DX11 support of Crysis 3. Naturally, PC gamers were a bit sceptical about it as Crytek had stated that very same thing for Crysis 2. However, things are a bit different this time around as the studio is currently focusing on the DX11 features of CryEngine 3. During this year’s E3, Crytek held a VIP tech presentation in which they showcased the DX11 features that will be implemented in CryEngine 3. After the lackluster second part of Crysis, a lot of PC gamers began wondering whether Crysis 3 would be concentrating on graphics or gameplay. Well, it seems that Crytek will focus on both of these elements, as well as the game’s storyline in an attempt to offer a great all-round experience, instead of focusing on a single specific aspect. This also means that the company will not push the graphical boundaries, as they’re targetting for a special artistic take on Crysis 3 and not for countless particle effects and ‘wow-ish’ graphics. Continue reading Crysis 3 won’t concentrate on ‘wow’ graphics, will try to offer a great all-round experience→
Man, how things have changed. The original Crysis was an amazing PC FPS title but it’s sequel was really restricted by consoles. Even though Crytek said – back then – that its development would not be limited by consoles, we said immediately that that would not be the case. Crytek afterwards revealed that the game was developed with consoles in mind and that’s one of the reasons why the nanosuit was redesigned (in order to be fully playable with a gamepad). Fast forward a couple of months and here we are today with Crytek admitting that Crysis 2 was held back by consoles and that Crysis 3 will offer some extra love to the PC gamers. Continue reading Crysis 3 is powered by CryEngine 3 Plus; PC gamers will receive some extra love, DX11 confirmed→
Crytek and Electronic Arts have released the official trailer of Crysis 3. Crysis 3 looks great but we’d expect to see something more than that. Truth is that we’re spoiled by all those CryEngine 3 mods and maps, therefore we had high hopes for Crytek’s upcoming shooter. In case you are wondering, this is PC footage. EA has also released some new shots (again from the PC version) that can be viewed below. Crysis 3 is slated for a 2013 release on current generation consoles and PC. Enjoy! Electronic Arts has released a teaser image for Crysis 3. Now we know how Crytek loves to showcase their game, but if that’s pure in-game screenshot, then we have to say that Crysis 3 will be a graphics masterpiece. The attention to detail is amazing and most of the textures look so crisp. Not only that, but this seems like a PC screenshot (although it looks like Crytek used that super-sampling screenshot capture feature that was also present in Crysis 1 and 2). We expect to see some in-game footage from Crysis 3 during E3, so stay tuned for more. Until then, enjoy the teaser! Continue reading Crysis 3 – E3 2012 Teaser Image Released→
