Electronic Arts and Crytek today announced that fans who pre-order Crysis 3 will receive a digital download copy of the original Crysis game for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 or PC. Crysis is by far – at least in our opinion – the best part of the franchise, so this is good news for all gamers who have not picked it up yet. Good news for Crysis and Stargate fans, as modder SirMick and his team have finally released the StarCry mod for Crytek’s FPS title. This mod has been in development for four whole years and features more than 1000 new objects, 2000 textures, 20 weapons and 1000 lines of dialog. Escape: Paradise is the first in a series of Crysis mods that focuses on utilizing the full potential of the Cryengine 2 for the purpose of creating a large, open, exploration/survival based game. Good news for all those who still have Crysis installed to their hard disks, as mckool has announced that the full version of his total conversion, The Mutant Factor, is hitting the Net in April 1st. In order to celebrate the mod’s launch, mckool has released its launch trailer that can be viewed below. The Mutant Factor is a new singleplayer campaign for Crysis and Crysis Wars. This a completely different story with a new set of characters which is heavily influenced by the Half-Life, Crysis, and F.E.A.R series of games. Sounds interesting to say the least. Enjoy! If there is one mod that can make Crysis unique and refreshing, then that’s definitely CyberAlien’s Extreme Quality Mod. CyberAlien’s mod is a piece of art and modder ‘x0TuRn0x’ decided to go the extra mile and to fix some bugs of it, as well as to include it in a map. Thus, Crysis PhotorealIV EGM has come to life. This little mod/map comes with better motion blur and DoF, as well as some gameplay improvements. And damn, those sand textures look lovely!
