Crystal Dynamics showcased Tomb Raider at Microsoft’s E3 2012 Conference and you can watch below some brand new gameplay footage of it. As it’s pretty obvious, this is an Uncharted clone in every possible way. Apart from that though, this new Tomb Raider game comes with good combat mechanics, great physics effects (although at the end of the footage, the environmental physics are all over the place), destructible environments and vertical combat gameplay. Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have revealed the full new “Crossroads” E3 trailer for Tomb Raider and announced that the game will hit the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on March 5, 2013. This new Tomb Raider game is basically a reboot of the series and looks very similar to Uncharted. Don’t know if that’s a good or a bad thing. And another one bites the dust. Crystal Dynamics have unveiled – a couple of hours ago – the the highly anticipated reboot of Tomb Raider will be pushed back to 2013. According to Darrell Gallagher, Head of Studio at Crystal Dynamics, when Crystal Dynamics first set out to reboot the Tomb Raider franchise, there were two goals that they were extremely passionate about. The first was to create a modern Tomb Raider game that would surprise and excite gamers. Oh man, now that’s a true classic game. Crystal Dynamics’ Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver has been re-released on GoG and is priced at 5.99 euros. As with all GoG titles, Soul Reaver is compatible with both 32bit and 64bit versions of Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. In case you have not played this classic game, players take the role of Raziel, one of Kain’s lieutenants. Raziel has been “blessed” with something no other vampire has, wings. Kain, being evil and jealous vampire, punished Raziel for this gift. Jealous Kain tore off Raziel’s wings and cast him down into the Lake of the Dead. A millenium has passed while Raziel lay forgotten before he is brought back to existence by The Elder God. He becomes a soul reaver with one purpose and one purpose only: to kill Kain. Let’s be honest, even though Tomb Raider was one of the best games at Microsoft’s Conference in this year’s E3, those damn quick-time events worried us. Yeah, they added to the atmosphere but we want to play a game and not watch a movie. Was the game following Heavy Rain’s example?
