Crytek has released the PAX 2012 trailer for its free-to-play first-person shooter, Warface. Warface is a vast online universe, set in the near future. The game offers a cinematic experience with next gen visuals, AI and physics based on Crytek’s proprietary CryENGINE 3 game development solution. Warface provides gamers with a constantly updated extensive PVE (player versus environment) universe full of dramatic multiplayer co-op missions, a full set of class based PVP (player versus player) and will be available for PC via Crytek’s free-to-play social platform GFACE. Today we bring you new shots (and videos) from the works of Crysis 2 modders ordnas666, EliteGhost, The_Distiller, ReVan1199, iSqueezee, USSR_GRAND, wjmoosting, d1ea, blackhorizon, antonadamse and TheMagnumman357. The highlight of this week is – again – The_Distiller’s Balrog creature. To put it simply – CryEngine 3’s Balrog is almost the same with the one of the LOTR movie. We also should note that the STALKER-like video is NOT from a new STALKER or Clear Sky game. This is a CryEngine 3 Pripyat map from blackhorizon and nothing more. Enjoy! Eric Cochonneau has revealed – on his portfolio page – some new screenshots and artworks from Crytek’s cancelled game. This game was under development for PS3 and X360 (and possibly for the PC) back in 2008, and was called Redemption. In our previous coverage, we described this title as a ‘The Last Of Us’ game, however these new screenshots have a different look and feel than Naughty Dog’s survival game. Truth be told, Redemption was meant to be a survival game in which the main character was protecting a girl, but they seem to share different concept ideas. Enjoy and special thanks to NYC_Gamer for spotting it! Continue reading More Artworks & Screenshots from Crytek’s cancelled game; titled as ‘Redemption’ for X360 and PS3→
We were a bit disappointed this week by CryEngine 3’s community, as there weren’t a lot of screenshots from the works of the on-going projects. Truth be told, it’s August and some of the modders are on vacations, but still… we were expecting for something more. Fortunately though, we have a number of videos and teaser trailers from some CryEngine 3 projects. Therefore, enjoy the screenshots from modders mystichobo, themodman101, Puppy, scumm, Arthurwalter and JohnBart, as well as the videos from CrydaVinci, TheDistiller, jaalt0, Fafaxounette, wjmoosting and KingBadger3d. Titanic and CryEngine 3 fans, get ready for a treat. ORM Entertainment has released a new trailer for its CryEngine 3 powered Titanic total conversion, Titanic: Lost In The Darkness. This trailer is basically a tour of some of the first class areas, such as the Grand Staircases, Reception Rooms, A la Carte Restaurant, Cafe Parisien, and elsewhere. We should note that this video was made on lower (medium) graphic settings, and that the project is still a WIP (Work In Progress). Enjoy! At long last everyone, Crytek has finally realized how stupid it was to automatically activate nanosuit’s speed mode while running. Yes, some people tried to defend Crytek’s decision, claiming that it was due to Alkatraz being hurt and that he could not run without the nanosuit’s ability. Of course, that was a bunch of crap. Truth is that it was an awful decision, a decision that had a major gameplay impact and made a lot of players vulnerable to campers (in Crysis 2’s MP mode). Well, time to forget this dreadful feature as Crysis 3 will sport unlimited running that won’t eat up your suit’s energy. Continue reading Success – Crysis 3 will feature unlimited running that will not eat up your suit’s energy→
Today we are bringing you new screenshots from the works of nero_angelo, EliteGhost, chicken, Tiesto, ReVan1199, Synce and d1ea. In addition, we included two videos from CrydaVinci and KingBadger. The highlight of this week is undoubtedly KingBadger’s level. KingBadger created a massive, open-world environment that looks gorgeous and gives us an idea of what a ‘true’ sandbox game would look like in CryEngine 3. Enjoy! Have you ever wondered what a LOTR game would look like in CryEngine 3? Well, it seems that we’ll find out pretty soon. Modder ‘The_Distiller’ – known for his work on a Judge Dredd CryEngine 3 project that was cancelled since he lost his assets – has been hard at work and is currently creating a cinematic sequence that is inspired by The Lord Of The Rings. This cinematic sequence is built with CryEngine 3 and focuses on The Balrog of Moria. No release date has been announced as of yet, but The_Distiller has released the first teaser trailer and screenshot for this project. Enjoy and stay tuned! Crytek has released some new artworks and screenshots for its free-to-play title, Warface. Warface is powered by CryEngine 3 and looks gorgeous. The game’s textures have been overhauled and thanks to Crytek’s in-house engine, Warface looks as good as most modern-day triple-A games. Crytek is co-working with Trion Worlds in order to bring Warface to North America, Europe, Turkey, Australia and New Zealand, through GFACE powered by the Trion platform. Enjoy!
