CryEngine 3 comes close to CG quality graphics with the works of Puppy and Mark Ranson

Normally, we’d include these screenshots in our weekly CryEngine 3 gallery but they’re so hot that we felt the need to share them with you as soon as possible. A lot of gamers think that CryEngine 3 is inferior to CryEngine 2 (because Crysis 1 looks better than Crysis 2), however CryEngine 3 can achieve CG quality graphics as can be seen by the works of modder Puppy and 3D artist Mark Ranson. We really hope that next-generation games will look this good and if you thought that Project CARS’ car models looked phenomenal, wait until you see the one created by Ranson. Enjoy! Crysis 3 Interactive Single Player Trailer Coming Next Week

Crytek has announced that an interactive trailer for Crysis 3’s single player campaign will be released next week. According to the company, in Crysis 3 your decisions will matter and that the upcoming interactive trailer will let you see just some of the  ways you can hunt down your prey in Crysis 3. Let’s hope that it won’t be full of small clips and that it will showcase the game’s environments that are said to be bigger than those of Crysis 2. Until then, enjoy its E3 2012 trailer! Weekly CryEngine 3 Gallery [July 8th – 14th]

Today we bring you some new images from the works of Crysis 2 modders d1ea, kabrita, USSR_GRAND, neo83_gr, angjminer, iSqueezee, chicken, and rGOt. iSqueezee and chicken had been experimenting with various assets, while rGOt and kabrita had been tweaking their tropical maps. angjminer on the other hand is creating a Doom map for Crysis 2, and both neo83_gr and USSR_GRAND are working on their own, custom maps. Crysis 2 Total Conversion ‘Earth 2050’ showcases the need for open-world games based on CryEngine 3

As we’ve said countless of times, CryEngine 3 has a lot of potential. And although we’ve been getting a lot of gorgeous indoor and jungle scenes, we kind of wondered what an open-world game would look like on Crytek’s game engine. Well, time to find out as Kanestudio1988 released a mind-blowing video for their CryEngine 3 project, Earth 2050. Earth 2050 is an experimental project and might not get released, but it does prove how versatile CryEngine 3 is and showcases the need for an open-world game, powered by it. Enjoy! Crytek is currently focusing on DX11, leaked documents from its private E3 2012 presentation

A while back, we informed you about the day-one DX11 support of Crysis 3. Naturally, PC gamers were a bit sceptical about it as Crytek had stated that very same thing for Crysis 2. However, things are a bit different this time around as the studio is currently focusing on the DX11 features of CryEngine 3. During this year’s E3, Crytek held a VIP tech presentation in which they showcased the DX11 features that will be implemented in CryEngine 3. Today we bring you new shots from the works of Crysis 2 modders rGOt, Puppy, angjminer, ReVan1199, USSR_GRAND, iSqueezee, OwNaGe, wenda and Rense de Boer. As always, the work of Crysis 2 modders is amazing and we have to comment on angjminer’s upcoming Doom map, that is currently under development and promises to be true to the classic spirit of id’s classic game. New mind-blowing video & shots from BeamNG’s Next-Generation soft-body physics engine

As promised, BeamNG has released a new video to showcase the progress they’ve done with their physics engine that is imported into Crytek’s CryEngine 3. This new video shows off new cars, intervehicle collision, breaking glass, deformable objects, and various tweaks and improvements. What’s really amazing is that BeamNG’s physics are now running multicore which means they can simulate multiple vehicles (including collision) at over 60 frames per second. MaLDo is back with a punch; new gorgeous Crysis 2 modded screenshots

MaLDo has revealed some new, drooling screenshots from the latest version of his MaLDoHD mod that will be released really soon. As always, MaLDo has exceeded our expectations and Crysis 2 looks spectacular. Seriously Crytek, just hire this guy and put his talent into good use. Crysis 3 won’t concentrate on ‘wow’ graphics, will try to offer a great all-round experience

After the lackluster second part of Crysis, a lot of PC gamers began wondering whether Crysis 3 would be concentrating on graphics or gameplay. Well, it seems that Crytek will focus on both of these elements, as well as the game’s storyline in an attempt to offer a great all-round experience, instead of focusing on a single specific aspect. This also means that the company will not push the graphical boundaries, as they’re targetting for a special artistic take on Crysis 3 and not for countless particle effects and ‘wow-ish’ graphics.
