Namco Bandai has released a new set of screenshots for Dark Souls 2 and although we’re pretty certain that FromSoftware’s title will be a great game, we have to admit that it does not look sexy at all. The texture work especially is as low-res as it can get. Keep also in mind that Dark Souls 2 is planned for a 2014 release and by that time, the visual difference between next-gen and current-gen titles will be even higher. Namco Bandai announced today that Dark Souls II is scheduled to launch on March 11th, 2014 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. According to the publisher,the PC version will be slightly delayed and will launch shortly after the console version becomes available to consumers. Namco Bandai has released a new trailer for Dark Souls 2 that covers the Gamescom 2013 Community Event that was held on August 21 & 22, featuring new, never before seen, gameplay footage from Dark Souls 2. Dark Souls 2 promises to be as hard as its predecessor, while being more accessible to newcomers. Players will also discover a revamped server based multiplayer experience that will put a distinct Dark Souls II twist on the concept of playing and sharing with others. CD Projekt RED has released a CGI, cinematic, trailer for its upcoming RPG, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, offering a thrilling glimpse into the morally ambiguous universe of Geralt of Rivia. Namco, on the other hand, revealed a teaser trailer for the Knight hero of Dark Souls II who was exploring dark pits and fighting dragons in the previous trailer. It’s pretty much impossible to keep up with all the gameplay dev walkthrough videos that have been released in the last 24 hours. Okay Dark Souls fans, we’ve got some good and some bad news for you today. The good news is that Dark Souls 2 got a target release date. The bad news is that the sequel to one of the hardest RPGs won’t be coming anytime soon. Namco Bandai has confirmed to Eurogamer that Dark Souls 2 is currently planned for a March 2014 release on current-gen systems and PC. Although Namco has not revealed – yet – whether Dark Souls 2 will be using GFWL or not, tha game’s director Yui Tanimura has shared some interesting new information about the PC version of this highly anticipated title.
