The user was browsing the Steam CDR and stumbled upon a new pack called “Zenimax Combo Comp.” Interesting title, right? Resident Evil is coming to Doom 3 with the ResiMod

Lots of news today for our Doom 3 fans. Modder marklegg is creating a Resident Evil mod for id’s FPS title that is based on Capcom’s survival game, Resident Evil. This project started as a simple map but marklegg felt the need to add various things and features, and thus ResiMod came to fruition. This mod is still in its early days and the modder decided to release a video to showcase his map. Sikkmod v1.2 will be a requirement for various aspects of the gameplay and visuals, and the modder is looking for any contribution that can be offered in terms of ideas, models, codes. Enjoy! This is what Quake looks like in iD Tech 4 Engine

YouTube’s member ‘thone2008’ has ported the first level of id’s classic FPS, Quake, into Doom 3. thone2008 has used the Quake Mod to convert E1M1 from Quake 1 (using Romero’s Map Source) into Doom 3 Map format and the only things that are missing are Textures (but all the original gun placements are there). thone2008 then used Darkplaces’s HD textures to ‘dress’ the entire level. New Video for Prometheus Doom 3 Map Looks Incredibly Amazing

Modder ‘bladeghost‘ has released a new video from his Prometheus Doom 3 Map. This video showcases a new helmet overlay, as well as the two spaceships that were featured in the movie. In all honesty, this is an incredible work and we have to congratulate bladeghost for his dedication. According to the modder, most things and areas are ‘roughed in to establish a workable space and many things are just placeholders. This means that bladeghost will replace all the geometry and textures at some point, in order to give a proper ‘Prometheus’ look to it. Remember those amazing screenshots from Doom 3? Well, great news everyone as Wulfen has released a new version of his Texture Pack, that includes all of them. As the modder described, he remade over 500 new textures in the past and this new, 2.0, version features new, improved and more polished textures. Talented Doom 3 modder Wulfen is back for more. It appears that Doom 3’s re-release sparked Wulfen’s interest and as a result of that, the modder has been working on a new update for his amazing, high-resolution Texture Pack. John Carmack Speaks: 30fps on consoles, 60fps on the PC – Doom 3 levels more taxing than RAGE’s

John Carmack has just revealed in QuakeCon 2012 what we knew all this time. Remember when we were claiming that Doom 3 modded looked better than RAGE? Well, the man himself said that Doom 3 levels were more taxing than the ones of RAGE, especially due to the stencil shadows and its more complex lighting system. This clearly shows that RAGE was dumbed down and was not developed in order to achieve what Doom 3 did a couple of years ago. Doom 3 Total Conversion ‘Grimm Quest for the Gatherer’s Key’ Looks Stunning

Modder ‘grimmquest’ has released some new screenshots from his total conversion mod for Doom 3, called Grimm Quest for the Gatherer’s Key. And although there are some low-res screenies here and there, the modder has done an excellent job with the environmental lighting. Or to put it simply – this TC has a great artistic style. Grimm Quest for the Gatherer’s Key is a fantasy hack&slash game with a lot of platforming elements that you might find in games like the Prince of Persia or Tomb Raider series, but from a First Person perspective. New screenshots and videos from the Doom 3 ‘Prometheus’ map

Bladeghost, creator of the promising Prometheus mod/map for Doom 3, has released some new screenshots and videos from it. Keep in mind that this project is being made by a single map and it’s still in early stage. This map has potential, however it’s really obvious that it still needs a lot of work.
