The new Doom game will be revealed in about a month, and today a number of screenshots from the cancelled version of Doom 4 got revealed (some videos were also provided that are – unfortunately – now private). In short, this is the real deal. This is how Doom 4 looked like. As we can see, this felt more like a mashup between Call of Duty and Killzone rather than a new Doom game. Call us impressed. YouTube’s ‘Natalia Galantseva’ has shared a real-time video from a new map she’s been working on with CRYENGINE that will definitely give you some Doom 4 (and Aliens) vibes. This is really impressive and can be easily described as a next-gen scene. The funny thing here is that Doom 4 may not look this sexy when – and if – it gets out. John Carmack Talks About Doom 4: “id Software should do more things more often”
Today is Doom’s 20th anniversary and Wired has a long interview with John Carmack about this legendary FPS title. At the end of the interview, Wired asked John what was going on with Doom 4 and as most would expect, John did not reveal much.
