AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 – First official benchmark shows AMD’s GPU beating NVIDIA’s GTX1080 FE in DOOM

AMD has revealed the first official benchmark for its new graphics card, the AMD RX Vega 64. According to the benchmark, this new GPU is around 10fps faster than NVIDIA’s GTX1080 Founder’s Edition and around 16fps faster than the AMD Fury X in DOOM. GZDoom may receive new modern-day effects like per-pixel lighting & raycasted real-time shadows

Nash Muhandes, main developer and programmer of the latest version of GZDoom, has showcased some new graphical features that may find their way to it. Nash showcased per-pixel lighting as well as raycasted real-time shadows, and the results are quite amazing for such a really old engine. Beautiful Doom 6.2.1 is now available for download

A few days ago, we informed you about the latest version of the Beautiful Doom mod for the original Doom games. And today, modder ‘Jekyll_Grim_Payne’ released a brand new version of it. According to the modder, this new version unlocks the weapon sets from player classes. As such, there’s no longer “vanilla weapons marine” or “enhanced weapons marine” and instead gamers can enable or disable the enhanced weapons via a simple option. Doom – Update 6.66 unlocks all multiplayer DLC, free weekend trial announced

Bethesda and id Software have released a brand new update for DOOM. According to the release notes, this patch unlocks all multiplayer DLC to everyone. This basically means that all of the DLC maps, weapons, armor sets and demons will be available for all players to enjoy. DOOM appears to have sold two million copies on the PC

According to Steamspy’s data, DOOM has sold more than two million copies on the PC. DOOM was released in May 2016 and it took Bethesda over one year – and a number of special deals/discounts – to hit that 2 million goal. AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition runs DOOM faster than the NVIDIA GTX1080, “Gaming” mode tested

YouTube’s ‘DudeRandom84’ has tested AMD’s Radeon Vega Frontier Edition in DOOM and compared it with both NVIDIA’s GTX1080 and GTX1080Ti graphics cards. And the results fall in line with what we are basically expecting from the gaming/consumer variant of the upcoming Vega GPU.
