And here we go. Apogee Software and 3D Realms released a press released in which they claimed that Gearbox Software owes Apogee more than $2 million in unpaid royalties and advance payments after Gearbox bought rights related to Apogee’s “Duke Nukem” video game, according to a breach of contract suit filed Friday in Texas state court. Back in April 1st, we informed you about a mod for the original Duke Nukem 3D that aimed to recreate the 2001 version of Duke Nukem Forever. A lot assumed that this mod was just a hoax. After all, its debut trailer was released in April 1st. Surely that was a prank joke, right? Well, as we said back then, no it wasn’t. And today we are happy to report that Gambini & Mikko Sandt have released this mod. Continue reading Hail To The King Baby; Duke Nukem Forever 2013 Mod Is Now Available→
Remember the amazing 2001 version of Duke Nukem Forever? Oh I bet most of us we’d kill to play that version instead of what Gearbox and 3D Realms offered us. And since this isn’t going to happen anytime soon, Gambini & Mikko Sandt decided to recreate the maps featured in DNF’s 2001 trailer in Duke Nukem 3D. The end result is quite amazing (for a retro title), and you can view a trailer for it below. This mod is planned for an April 15th release, and even though the trailer was uploaded on April 1st, Gambini has added some screenshots to this mod’s ModDB page on April 4th. In other words, it seems legit so go ahead and enjoy the trailer! Continue reading This Is The Duke Nukem Forever Game We’ve Been Waiting For, Only Slightly Different→
Duke Nukem fans, this is for you. Gearbox’s forum member ‘trustn0!’ has spotted an amazing parody in which Duke Nukem confronts God. Long story short: Duke is trying to enter paradise and God is trying to check whether he’s on the paradise list or not. It’s a hilarious gift from John St. John, and although we are not 100% sure that the God voice is Morgan Freeman himself, it does sound like him. Enjoy! Now this is hilarious. Remember George Broussard? You know, the lead designer of Duke Nukem Forever and co-founder of 3D Reamls? Well, it seems that Broussard is a Halo 4 fan as he bashed a reviewer for giving 343 Industries’ title a ‘mere’ 70/100 score. Although we don’t cover console games, we can’t simply sit back and let things explode without having a good laugh, right? After all, the final version of DNF was average at best and didn’t justify that legendary ‘released WID’ moto of 3D Realms, so who is Broussard to say that reviewers are wrong? Continue reading George Broussard, games rating systems, and what devs believe about the different score scales→
