Epic Games has released a sneak peek video for – what seems to be – a new tech demo of Unreal Engine 4. GDC is right around the corner and Epic’s will most probably showcase its next-generation engine with a new demo. This new demo appears to be a shooter, so it will be interesting to see whether it’s footage from an upcoming next-generation game or not. You can view the sneak peek video below, courtesy of GameTrailers! Continue reading Unreal Engine 4 To Be Showcased At GDC 2013, Sneak Peek Video Unleashed→
Following our CryEngine 3 gallery, today we bring you new shots from Polycount’s 3D artists biofrost, Boyo, JustGarry, KMNettelbladt, maxmead, Mr Smo and oldemo. The highlight of this week is Mr Smo’s stunning castle environment, with its brilliant textures and the tessellated water. This is a truly amazing level and we hope to see a flythrough video when the map is finished. Enjoy! Continue reading Weekly UDK Gallery [March 17th – 23rd]→
Epic Games announced today that it has licensed Unreal Engine 4 to YAGER. Under the agreement, the Berlin-based developer will utilize Epic’s groundbreaking tools to craft a major next-generation title to be unveiled in the coming months. We should also note that YAGER will be the first independent studio in Europe to license the technology, so kudos to the creators of Spec Ops: The Line for that. It’s really amazing witnessing such detailed environments from 3D artists that surpass those of triple-A titles. Shaun Baker has created a gorgeous environment that is based on the Aliens franchise, an environment that puts to shame those featured in Aliens: Colonial Marines. Imagine if Gearbox’s title looked like that. Man, now that would be awesome. But anyway, alongside Baker’s shots you can find some more from 3D artists SeanO’Connor, Jackson31, rockstar6, Dommel, vemadesign, cmc444, Mr Smo and Boyo. Enjoy! Now that’s more like it; after the amazing tressfx technique that was unveiled a while back by AMD, we kind of wondered what Nvidia’s next move would actually be. And it seems that the green team will be working closely with Epic Games for ‘something’. That, or Epic Games is teasing some new PC technique (that will be supported by both Nvidia and AMD). Point is that ‘something’ is coming on the PC frontier by Epic Games, and it seems that Nvidia was impressed with it. Today we bring you new shots from the works of 3D artists Joopson, Jackson31, JFletcher, Christian Nordgren, AkiRa, DQ89, davidosterlind, rockstar6 and BringMeASunkist. The highlight of this week is rockstar6’s environmental screenies that are inspired by Naughty Dog’s The Last Of Us. Artist rockstar6 has outdone himself, offering an environment real close to what Naughty Dog has created, and we really need to point out that this fan-made level has not been finished yet. Enjoy! Yesterday, Epic Games unveiled Unreal Engine 4 running on PS4. It was amazing witnessing such an engine running on Sony’s next-generation platform but something felt off. Something felt different from what we remember seeing on the PC. And it appears we’re right as both NeoGAF and Reddit users have been spotting various differences between these two versions of the Elemental Tech Demo. Fact is that Elemental on PC looked more impressive and more beautiful than its console counterpart. But let’s take a look on a comparison between these two versions, shall we? Epic Games today revealed a new version of its “Elemental” real-time demonstration, the premier showcase for the studio’s breakthrough Unreal Engine 4 game engine technology, running on the PlayStation 4 at today’s PlayStation Meeting 2013. It seems that Epic Games is currently working on a new tech demo for Unreal Engine 4. This tech demo is said to be a Helmet Tech Demo and showcases some amazing lighting effects. To be honest, the following screenshots look more impressive than the Elemental tech demo, at least in our opinion. It’s also really strange that these images got leaked online just a few hours before the Playstation 4 meeting. Could Epic Games and Sony be on something? We’ll soon find out. For now, enjoy the screenshots after the jump! Continue reading Unreal Engine 4 – New Screenshots From A New Tech Demo→
As you may have noticed, last week we did not post any UDK gallery and the reason was simple; contrary to CryEngine 3’s modders, the artists that are experimenting with Epic’s engine are not updating constantly their projects. And since we did not have enough shots to share, we decided to keep them for this week’s gallery. Therefore, today we bring you new shots from the works of 3D artists Amatobahn, Lyaksandr, Ryswick, David-J, theonewhoknocks, KartoonHead, danpaz3d, penE, AkiRa and J0NNYquid. Enjoy!
