Although Namco has not revealed – yet – whether Dark Souls 2 will be using GFWL or not, tha game’s director Yui Tanimura has shared some interesting new information about the PC version of this highly anticipated title. Dark Souls fans, we’ve got some news that may make you jump around like little bunnies. Dark Souls 2’s official website has been updated and it seems that the PC version won’t suffer from the atrocity called GFWL. Yeap, this may come as a pleasant surprise, however GFWL’s logo is absent from the official website, suggesting that FromSoftware won’t be using Microsoft’s DRM/Online system. Namco and IGN have released a 12 minutes trailer for Dark Souls 2, featuring in-game action. This video showcases the game’s environments and its combat system. Dark Souls 2 promises to be as hardcore as its predecessor, and while the development team claims that this second part features better visuals… well… it still looks like a blurry fest to us. We still consider Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition PC as one of the worst console ports ever. Yes, the vanilla version is awful. However, its modding community has managed to fix and address most of its issues, while the talented modder Durante has unlocked both the game’s internal resolution and its framerate, making it a bit of a more pleasant gaming experience. Dark Souls is considered one of the hardest RPGs, ever. Well, time to get amazed with what some players can achieve. Freddy ‘Thanatos’ Vasquez has managed to complete FromSoftware’s RPG in under 35 minutes. This is an amazing speedrun, and as Freddy described, this run took him 2 weeks of planning and practice. Moreover, the run can be improved by at least 25 seconds, assuming a perfect O&S fight, and assuming the same route is used. Enjoy! Namco Bandai has finally released the raw-video for the reveal trailer of Dark Souls II. Dark Souls II will feature a new hero, a new storyline, and an unfamiliar world for players to survive in, while delivering the uncompromising challenge and ultimate sense of empowerment that players hunger for. And the moment most hardcore action RPG fans have been waiting for has finally arrived. Namco has unveiled a cinematic trailer for Dark Souls 2 on today’s VGA Awards. You can view the official press release below which confirms the PC version of it. Guess Namco Bandai was benefit from porting the game to the PC platform. We love modders and we are really happy when we see a collaboration between them. Dark Souls modders Durante and Clement decided to join forces and DSFix 1.5 is the first fruition of this collab. As you may have guessed, the DSFix addresses the internal resolution that was locked – when the game came out – and adds support for SSAO and SMAA.
