Apogee Software and 3D Realms released a press released in which they claimed that Gearbox Software owes Apogee more than $2 million in unpaid royalties and advance payments after Gearbox bought rights related to Apogee’s “Duke Nukem” video game, according to a breach of contract suit filed Friday in Texas state court. SEGA has revealed via its latest financial reports that Aliens: Colonial Marines has sold 1.31 million units. Yeap, despite the controversy surrounding it, this new Aliens game has managed to surpass the one million mark, and was the second best selling title for the publisher (the best selling title was Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed that sold 1.36 million copies). Aliens: Colonial Marines – PC Version Gets New Update, Offering Various Visual Improvements

Despite the controversy surrounding Aliens: Colonial Marines, Gearbox has released a new update for the PC version of it. This is a minor update that comes with compatibility support for “Reconnaissance Pack” multiplayer add-on, as well as various visual improvements, including new screen space ambient occlusion (SSAO) functionality. I’m pretty sure that by now, most of you are already aware about the lawsuit against SEGA and Gearbox for the early gameplay trailers and footages of Aliens: Colonial Marines. According to the lawsuit and as described by Polygon, SEGA and Gearbox ‘falsely advertised Aliens by showing demos at trade shows like PAX and E3 which didn’t end up being accurate representations of the final product‘ and that ‘by sending out review code to the press under an embargo that lifted in the early morning of Aliens: Colonial Marines’ launch date of Feb. 12, the game’s pre-orderers and early adopters would have no knowledge of the discrepancies between the demo and final game‘. Aliens: Colonial Marines PC Gets A 4GB Update, AI Overhauled, Changelod Revealed

Now that’s more like it. Gearbox unveiled today that a new update for the PC version of Aliens: Colonial Marines is now available and that it weights around 4GB in size. Yeap, you read that right. 4GB in size and is available as we speak. Gearbox has also released the changelog of this huge update, revealing that the enemy and friendly AI has been tweaked in order to be more aggressive and responsive. Hell bloody yeah. You can view the complete changelog below, so go ahead and take a look. The only downside is that Gearbox introduced a film grain filter that cannot be disabled.
