Gears of War 4 – December update detailed, releasing on December 6th
The Coalition has detailed the December update for Gears of War 4 that is currently planned for release on December 6th. This update will introduce two new maps, will add Vertical Split-Screen support to the PC version, and will bring improvements to visual feedback for damage dealt with the Gnasher, as well as to footstep audio balance, audio/video settings. Gears of War 4 – Crossplay test weekend between Xbox One & PC coming this Friday
The Coalition announced that a crossplay test weekend will be held this Friday that will enable Xbox One and PC players to play against each others. According to the developers, this test is being conducted to evaluate the potential of a more permanent Crossplay solution in the future to allow PC and Xbox One gamers to play together in Versus outside of Private Matches. Here are the things that will be addressed in the first updates of Gears of War 4
The Coalition has revealed the fixes and improvements that it is currently preparing for Gears of War 4. According to the team, the first updates will bring adjustments to the competitive Lancer/Gnasher, harsher quit penalties to players, competitive/Core lobbies, and will fix the PC mics issues that have been reported. Gears of War 4 – PC Performance Analysis
When the Ultimate Edition of Gears of War was released, we were kind of disappointed with its PC version. The game suffered from a lot of issues due to its UWP nature, it stuttered like crazy, it did not support a lot of things (like statistics, fps counter and extended PC options), and was – overall – a big letdown. Fast forward a few months and here we are today with the next part in the Gears of War series that is being brought to the PC by the same team that brought us Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. Gears of War 4 – E3 2015 Demo versus Final Game
Digital Foundry has shared an interesting video, in which it compares the E3 2015 demo of Gears of War 4 with its final version. As we can see, and even though there are some level design and artistic differences between these two versions, The Coalition did not downgrade the game’s visuals. Okay okay, the wind effects are not that strong as they were in the E3 2015 demo. Overall, though, the final version looks as good as that initial demo. Gears of War 4 releases on October 11th.
