According to the release notes – full changelog below – this patch adds a Hardcore mode, improves performance and shadows quality on Guerrilla maps, as well as online stability. Ubisoft has revealed a Season Pass for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and released the Arctic Strike Map Pack for PC. Hilarious. That’s the word I’m going to use for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier’s latest PC patch. This new patch comes with improve graphics – though the company did not reveal what has been changed or improved – and a fix for the friends list. Ubisoft has finally released the highly anticipated ‘Update 1.4’ for the PC version of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. This update comes with global improvements in FPS for all configurations, as well as fixes for several stability issues that occurred during map loading. Kudos to Ubisoft for at least putting some effort into fixing some of the major issues that were present in the PC version of the game. We strongly believe that the company should had delayed the game’s release date in order to offer what they had initially promised, but then again that’s just us. Thankfully though, Ubisoft has fixed the mouse issues, meaning that PC gamers will actually be able to enjoy their game with their mouse. Man, how things have changed. Back in the days, Ghost Recon was a tactical FPS franchise that took place in large, outdoor environments. Fast forward a couple of years and here we are today with a third-person action game that features minimal squad elements and feels more like a Splinter Cell than a Ghost Recon title. Ironic but as you may have heard, this is not the Ghost Recon you knew and fell in love with. In fact, the PC versions of the GRAW games is way more tactical than this last offering, and you do know that GRAW was already a dumbed down version of Ghost Recon.
