It has been more than a decade since GTA was first released but did you know that Grand Theft Auto was originally planned to be called “Race N Chase” and it was almost cancelled? Also what is up with the controversy this series has faced over the years? When the series was first started in 1997, there would’ve been a few who would’ve expected it to become a breakthrough and inspiration to modern gaming but seeing where it stands today is absolutely amazing. So, in anticipation for the trailer this Wednesday the 14th, let’s take a brief trip down memory lane and see how GTA has evolved over the decade with its most popular titles and what problems it has faced. Our reader Jonathan Gustafsson has informed us about a mod that promises to bring Assassin’s Creed into GTA IV’s game engine. Created by “ShakingASS” and “terreur69”, this mod is still in early stages and as we can see below, there are no special moves for Altair, no crowd, no abilities to climb on walls, etc. Obviously we’re asking for too much as this will most probably be an Assassin’s Creed map and nothing more. But still, imagine if these two guys could implement such features. All in all, this mod – on its final stage – will give us a glimpe of what an Assassin’s Creed game could look like on the RAGE engine. Enjoy some early footage from it, captured by Jonathan himself! Now this is brilliant. Our reader ‘Jonathan Gustafsson’ has informed us about a new mod that replaces Niko with Toy Story’s Buzz. Jonathan has mixed this one with the ghost rider mod, and the end result is quite amusing. Naturally, you can view a video from this mod below, so waste no time. Hit the jump and watch it. Now. You won’t regret it. Or will you? But then again, we didn’t so you probably won’t. Right? Continue reading Grand Theft Auto IV – Mod Spotlight – Toy Story’s Buzz Comes To Liberty City→
Ah, Mafia. Such an amazing game. It’s sad that its sequel was not as good as we’d hoped to. In fact, Mafia 2 was one of the first games that had a really, really horrible ending. Our guess is that the develepoment team wanted to push some SP DLC stories after the game’s release in order to keep gamers interested in it (and milk their game for as long as they could). It didn’t work out for them though. But anyway, back to Mafia. Our reader ‘Jonathan Gustafsson’ has captured some footage from a mod that converts Mafia 1 to the RAGE Engine. We love modders. Well, if you are regullar here you already know that but we have to say it one more time – we love you guys. HorselessProductions have created this amazing machinima video that puts together Grand Theft Auto and Mario Kart. This guy has also been behind another crossover between Super Mario Bros and Grand Theft Auto that can be viewed below. In addition, we’ve included an ‘Elephant Mod Showcase’ video from Jonathan Gustafsson. Enjoy everyone! Our reader Jonathan Gustafsson has sent us a interesting video from – what seems to be – a cancelled GTA IV project. This project attempted to port GTA2 into GTA IV’s game engine, the RAGE Engine, and looks cute and sexy. It also gives us a glipse at what a proper, top-down isometric, GTA game with high-resolution textures and assets would look like in a modern-day engine. Man, now that would be something worth waiting for. This project was started by modder ‘garju’ and its video demonstration was uploaded by YouTube’s member ‘taltigolt.’ Enjoy! YouTube’s member ‘seedyrom34’ has uploaded an amazing video that showcases a working ‘Back to the Future’ mod for Grand Theft Auto 4. Awesome, right? Well, we’ve got some bad news for you as seedyrom34 has not shared his mod (and won’t). According to seedyrom34, this is a HEAVILY CUSTOMIZED PC project from a die-hard BTTF and GTA fan. It took him months to tweak everything and finally get it working right and he made this video mostly to show what can still be done with this amazing game and to give other BTTF fans some information on how to create something similar. Well, that sucks. But anyway, go ahead and take a look at it as it’s really an incredible mod for Rockstar’s open-world sandbox game! Although Keilany had stated that iCEnhancer 2.0 would be the final version of his GTA IV mod, the talented modder has been experimenting with some new techniques and as a result of that, iCEnhancer 2.1.1 came to fruition. This new version of iCEnhancer supports an anamorphic effect that looks similar to the one of Battlefield 3. No ETA has been announced as of yet, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted. Enjoy the screenshots after the jump! Continue reading GTA IV iCEnhancer 2.1.1 – New Screenshots Revealed→
Hayssam Keilany has released a new set of screenshots from his upcoming 2.1P/2.1.1 version of iCEnhancer for GTA IV. No release date has been announced as of yet but according to the modder, this new version of iCEnhancer is packed with the best settings he’s ever made and it’s like having the eye-candyness of 1.2 + 2.0N accurate colors + 2.1 fixes & overall. Enjoy the screenshots after the jump! Continue reading New GTA IV iCEnhancer 2.1P/2.1.1 Screenshots Unveiled→
