STALKER fans are certainly pleased with the fact that STALKER 2 is still in development, however they won’t be able to enjoy this title in 2012. As GSC GameWorld revealed via their Twitter account, there is currently no release date for STALKER 2 and they are afraid that it won’t come out in 2012. Okay STALKER 2 fans, here is something that might make you happy and start jumping around your room. GSC GameWorld has tweeted that we’ll get some official news in mid January and that “there is cause for hope”. Which basically translates to “Hey, there is a chance we might not close and STALKER 2 might not get cancelled”. Make no mistake though. Yeah, it seems that there is light at the end of GSC’s tunnel but for all we know, this message could be GSC’s attempt at damage control, so hold your horses. For now at least. The OGSE Team sent us word about a crucial feature that will be implemented in the next version of their OGSE Mod. OGSE 0.6.9.3 will feature improved light sources on static render, which basically means that most of the point light-sources such as lamps, will have “real” lighting on R1 (static) render mode. According to the team, this was accomplished by “adjusting light-source properties in game SDK” and what’s more interesting, is that these light sources will be breakable. As promised yesterday, GSC GameWorld made an official announcement about the fate of STALKER 2. And just a few minutes ago, GSC tweeted that they will do their best to continue. All hell has broken loose today as there was a rumor that – according to UkraNews – GSC GameWorld would be closing its doors. And sadly, it has been confirmed by both GSC GameWorld’s employees and GSC’s director Dmitri Bourkovski, who has officially confirmed the closure of GSC and the cancellation of Stalker 2. Yeap, GSC GameWorld is no more guys. Moreoever, there was a major leak of STALKER 2 artworks and screenshots just a few hours ago. Now frankly, we don’t know if this leak was intentional – as a means to calm the game’s fans down – but we do know that STALKER 2 looked promising. Oh boy, what a shame. The STALKER series was one of the best PC exclusive series and we are really shocked now. Nevertheless, you can find bellow a lot of artworks and two, in-game, screenshots. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat MISERY is a mod that promises to overhaul GSC’s first-person shooter. This mod comes with custom textures, a weather system, new sound effects, new difficulty settings, improved AI, reskinned weapons, new items and interface, as well as new menus and loading screens. In other words, this mod is touching and tweaking almost every aspect of the game. MISERY is almost completed (currently at 93% of development) and the team behind it released a huge features list that – part of it – can be viewed after the jump.
