Don’t expect real-time ray tracing effects in Doom Eternal anytime soon

Back in July 2019, we informed you about Doom Eternal supporting real-time ray tracing effects. However, it appears that PC gamers will not be able to enjoy these effects anytime soon. Doom Eternal will support classic centered weapon position, new gameplay footage surfaces

Bethesda has announced that Doom Eternal will support classic centered weapon position. In other words, gamers will be able to have their weapons centered, like in the classic Doom games. Arcane Dimensions HD is a 22-level expansion pack for Quake, available for download

Modder ‘metamorphosis’ has released a HD version of Arcane Dimensions for the first Quake game. Arcane Dimensions is a large expansion/complete conversion for the original Quake 1, by Simon O’callaghan and many others. This is a build of Arcane Dimensions using HD textures, sound fx, and metamorphosis’ own ~3 hour soundtrack. Doom Eternal has been delayed until March 2020, Doom 64 releases on the same day

Bethesda has just announced that Doom Eternal will now release on March 20th, 2020. According to the publisher, this extra time will give id Software enough time to further polish the game. In addition, Doom 64 will come out on the PC on the very same day, and will be a pre-order bonus for Doom Eternal. Doom Eternal’s primary focus is to increase player engagement, won’t feature deathmatch to keep players “happy”

In an interview with GamesIndustry, id Software’s Hugo Martin revealed that Doom Eternal’s main focus is to increase player engagement. And while this may be a cool way to improve the game’s single-player experience, I am a bit worried about its MP mode. Oh, and let’s not forget that the game will feature micro-transactions.
