Quake 1.5 beta is available for download, expands campaign, adds gore, new enemies and more

Earlier this week we shared a trailer for Quake 1.5 and today we are happy to report that its debut beta version is available for download. Quake 1.5 is a Darkplaces addon mod for the original Quake that utilizes Seven’s SMC 5.30 as a base and has been expanded to include new features such as weapons, gore, and enemies. Mod enables real-time ray tracing RTX effects in Quake 2 for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPUs

Back in October 2018, we informed you about the Path Tracing mod for Quake 2 that could run on the new high-end gaming graphics card from NVIDIA, the GeForce RTX2080Ti. Unfortunately, though, that Path Tracing renderer could not take advantage of the RT cores, resulting in really low performance. Thankfully though, a group of people has released a new special version that takes advantage of the RTX GPUs. New gameplay videos released for Quoom and Quake 1.5 mods

Quake fans, here is something for you today. Modders ‘bloodshot12’ and ‘Kollech87’ have released new videos for their upcoming mods, Quake 1.5 and Quoom. As its title suggests, Quoom is basically a port of Quake to the Gzdoom Engine and will feature 3 episodes with around 30 levels. YouTube’s ‘Quake ChampionsPRO’ has shared a video, showing 15 minutes of brand new gameplay footage from Rage 2. Rage 2 is being developed by by id Software and Avalanche Studios and promises to feature insane action, open-world environments with no loadings, vehicular combat, upgradable weapons, and like its predecessor will be using a first-person perspective. Wolfenstein 3D SNES ported to the PC and is available for download

Wolfenstein fans, here is something for you today. Modder ‘AstroCreep’ has ported the SNES version of Wolfenstein 3D to the PC and has just released this mod to the public. This mod uses Executor’s Second Encounter port as a base, meaning that it requires the latest version of ECWolf and Wolfenstein 3D 1.4, and then adds assets directly imported from the SNES version of Wolfenstein.
