Even though we’ve been covering pCars this whole time, there is another racing game that looks slightly worse than it, but feels more ‘responsive’ and closer to real-life driving. You see, even rFactor 2 does not feature the mind-blowing visuals of Slightly Mad Studios’ racing game, it certainly features a better physics engine and a spectacular tire deformation system. We don’t know whether pCars will manage to surpass it, fact is though that racing sim fans should definitely give a go at ISI’s proper sim racing game. Enjoy this new community trailer – created by YouTube’s member ‘BSNismo’ – after the jump! Continue reading New rFactor 2 Community Trailer Looks Sweet→
Slightly Mad Studios have released some new community shots for Project CARS. As usual, the shots show purely in-game footage that has not been made in any special photo mode with no post-processing or filters that aren’t available during the actual gameplay. Special thanks to LEOVGKI, WALKERIE, RODRIGO BORBA, WIZZA, MANGUST, DUDE27, KELNOR34, BEN BUJA, TREFLE, SPIDEY, WAXXFETISH, TERRONIUM-12, TJC, GTWELSH, PLM5, R3DF0X and YOFLOEMA for capturing them. We’ve also included some rFactor 2 shots from BSNismo that have been touched in terms of contrast, bloom and blur on tyres (things that could be easily supported in the final version of the game). Enjoy! Continue reading New Community Screenshots for Project CARS and rFactor 2→
We’ve been covering extensively Project CARS these past weeks and admit it, it does look great, right? Well, time for a nice surprise as BSNismo – the man behind some impressive videos for Project CARS – has shared some astonishing screenshots from Project CARS’ rival, rFactor 2. rFactor 2 looks amazing and can look as good as Project CARS. Not only that, but ISI’s racing game is a better and more hardcore sim racing game. The tire deformation in particular is by far the best we’ve ever seen. rFactor 2 is currently in beta phase. Enjoy! As always, beta versions of games come with bugs. Lots of bugs. And when it comes to racing games, the most common bug is the collision physics bug, in which cars crash for no apparent reason and start floating around. Naturally, rFactor 2 suffers from this random issue and will be obviously fixed in a later version. Until then though, you can enjoy the following bloopers! rFactor 2’s beta is a GO and we bet that most of you are wondering one and only thing; does this beta justify the pre-order requirement? Great news for racing sim fans as rFactor’s 2 open beta is GO. Well, to be more precise, it’s a GO only for those interested in buying the game. Bummer. Those interested in trying the game – without having to pay for it – will have to wait for its demo that will not come out anytime soon. As the developers revealed, the intent of this release is to receive feedback on the new modding process. At the same time, ISI is testing the purchase system and online accounts. As we reported earlier today, rFactor 2’s beta is about to begin and ISI has also released some new screenshots and videos for it. As you’d expect, the company is trying to hype it and let us tell you that it looks bloody good. Surely it doesn’t seem able to compete with the mind-blowing graphics of Project CARS or Assetto Corsa, but rFactor 2’s tire deformation looks so awesome and definitely beyond anything we’ve ever seen. Make sure to check the slow-mo video guys! Continue reading rFactor 2 – New Beta Screenshots & Videos Released→

ISI’s Tim Wheatley has just released the first in-game footage for their highly anticipated racing sim, rFactor 2. Tim decided to do a lap of Monaco in one of the generic Formula 2 cars with rFactor 2’s current build. According to Tim, this car is quite a bit easier to turn on the throttle and due to that it probably shows off the handling better than he could have while under-driving the F1s. This video will give you a nice idea of the game’s driving and physics, so be sure to check it out. And as always, this is an alpha footage and does not represent the final product.
