Call of Duty: Ghosts – PC Performance Analysis
A couple of months ago, we were really looking forward to four major, triple-A titles. Those titles were – obviously – Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Need For Speed: Rivals. All these four titles were advertised as the first next-gen games, and to our surprise all of them had issues. Battlefield 4 has instability issues while playing online (and let’s not forget that its latest update crippled its performance on Nvidia’s cards), Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag was not taking advantage of more than two CPU cores, NFS: Rivals is locked at 30fps and Call of Duty: Ghosts had a ridiculous RAM requirement. Not only that, but Infinity Ward’s title suffered from stuttering issues and graphical glitches. The team has released some patches for it that – supposedly – address most of its bugs (and thankfully let us select all the Extra settings) so it’s time to see how this patched up version performs on the PC. Call of Duty: Ghosts – Official Update Removes The Ridiculous 6GB RAM Requirement [UPDATE]
Well you gotta love Activision and Infinity Ward. Yesterday, the big publisher revealed that there are no plans for an update that would fix the FPS and lag issues spotted on the PC version. And today, Infinity Ward has released a new PC update that removes the ridiculous RAM requirement. Yeap, that’s right everyone. Call of Duty: Ghosts can officially now be played on systems with 4GB of RAM. Continue reading Call of Duty: Ghosts – Official Update Removes The Ridiculous 6GB RAM Requirement [UPDATE]
Activision Claims That There Is No Patch For Call of Duty: Ghosts PC On The Horizon
And we are going in circles. A couple of days ago, we informed you about a possible patch that could fix the ridiculous RAM requirement for Call of Duty: Ghosts. Activision claimed back then that it was looking into this issue, however it seems that a PC patch is not a priority for the company. When a fan asked yesterday about a patch for Call of Duty: Ghosts PC in order to fix the game’s fps and lag issues, Activision claimed that there won’t be such a patch anytime soon. COD: Ghosts – Unofficial Ghosts RAM Fix Makes Multiplayer Playable On Systems With Less Than 6GB RAM
And here is comes a new challenger. A couple of days ago, a Ramfix was released for Activision’s Call of Duty: Ghosts. Yes, that tool (or should we say ‘cracked’ executable file) allowed the game to run on systems with less than 6GB of RAM, however the only mode that was available was its Single Player mode. Modder ‘master131’ has come to the rescue though and released a new tool that unlocks the RAM requirement, makes both SP and MP available, and does not alter the game’s executable files.
Activision: “We Are Looking Into The 6GB RAM Lock Of Call of Duty: Ghosts”
And finally we got some official news about the 6GB requirement, though it may not be what most of you are currently wishing for. When a fan asked Activision about the ridiculous 6GB RAM requirement of Call of Duty: Ghosts, the big publisher responded and confirmed that it is currently looking into this. Now don’t get your hopes up as the publisher has not promised to remove it – it is just looking into it. Continue reading Activision: “We Are Looking Into The 6GB RAM Lock Of Call of Duty: Ghosts”
This Is Why Our Call Of Duty: Ghosts Performance Analysis Is Postponed
We bet that a lot of our readers have been waiting for our Call of Duty: Ghosts Performance Analysis. Unfortunately, that article is now postponed (indefinitely) until Infinity Ward fixes some of the game’s issues. And no, we’re not talking about the 6GB RAM requirement as that’s the least of the problems we’ve encounter with this title. Call Of Duty: Ghosts – FOV Tool Taken Down After Activision Threats, New ‘Behind The Scene’ Video Released
Well, that was fast. Yesterday, a FOV tool was released by the Fovely community and today we found out – thanks Mikah – that this tool has been taken down after some legal threats from Activision. As you can clearly see, the download link has been replaced with the message “link removed due to a friendly threat from everyone’s favorite publishing firm.”
