Thanks to Mantle and its on-going beta phase, Battlefield 4 has managed to overshadow Call of Duty: Ghosts. Which is most probably why Activision decided to release a new trailer for it today, detailing the game’s Squads MP modes. As its description reads, Squads introduces a whole new level of competition to Call of Duty: Ghosts that aims to combine the unrivaled Multiplayer experience with cutting edge AI, in an attempt to let you play a variety of new game modes with your customized squad-mates. Now I don’t know if this good or bad news. Call of Duty: Ghosts has been rated PEGI 16, and this information comes straight from Activision. As we can clearly see, the UK section of the game’s official website has been updated with this rating. Now back to our original question – is this a good or a bad thing? It’s definitely good because more people will be able to enjoy it, however this also indicated that Infinity Ward’s latest title won’t be as mature as we’d want it to be. Activision has just released the official trailer for the single player campaign mode of Call of Duty: Ghosts. Call of Duty: Ghosts will allegedly take place in the future, but utilise current technology and weapons in line with a “major plot event”. The single-player campaign is said to include more destructible environments, with multiplayer maps featuring interactive areas and traps. Published by Activision and developed by Infinity Ward, Call of Duty: Ghosts will release on X360, PS3, PC and Wii U on November 5th. The title will also release on the Xbox One and PS4 at a later date. Enjoy! Continue reading Call of Duty: Ghosts – Official Single Player Campaign Trailer→
Now here is something really interesting. According to the game’s executive producer, Mark Rubin, the PC version of Call of Duty: Ghosts will feature higher resolution textures than those of next-gen console versions. One can only wonder why is this happening, since almost everyone has been praising PS4’s 8GB of GDDR5. Did Infinity Ward hit a limitation or something? Or is this just some PR-thing to get PC gamers excited? Continue reading Call of Duty: Ghosts – PC version will feature higher resolution textures than those of next-gen console versions→
As promised, Activision has released the reveal trailer for the multiplayer mode of Call of Duty: Ghosts. The company has also reminded us that those who decide to pre-order will receive the bonus dynamic multiplayer map: Freefall. And I have to question now myself: will this thing ever stop? Obviously not, but it’s really ridiculous at this point that every game offers such DLCs as pre-order bonuses. But anyway, enjoy the trailer after the jump! Activision and Infinity Ward announced today that the Call of Duty: Ghosts’ multiplayer will be unveiled on August 14th at 10:30am PDT. Activision did not hint at what we’ll be seeing, however it is almost a given that the MP footage will be based on the X360 version of the game. Call of Duty: Ghosts will feature new dynamic map events, so hopefully Infinity Ward will give us a taste of what’s to come. Activision and Infinity Ward have released a new tech trailer for Call of Duty: Ghosts, showcasing the graphical effects that will be supported in this next-gen version of this popular franchise. Call of Duty: Ghosts will support displacement mapping, SubD, sun-shafts, HDR, volumetric lighting, and high-resolution textures. To be honest though, apart from the SubD technique, these techniques have been used in other current-gen titles such as Crysis 3 and Metro: Last Light. Therefore, we are really puzzled here; does Activision believe that this is what gamers expect from a true next-gen title? You can view the tech trailer below. Geoff Keighley and Activision held an Early Access event today in which they showcased the SP mode of Call of Duty: Ghosts. Call of Duty: Ghosts was running on next-gen hardware (though Activision did not reveal the platform that was used) and seems to be a true COD game. In other words, it’s scripted to death. The dog in Ghosts will be called Riley and players will be able to control it. And simply ‘lol’ at the ending sequence where the dog jumps in a window, makes a lot of noise and then out of nowhere 5 trained guys with weapons somehow break down a wooden door so it explodes. I mean, seriously now? None of them thought of shooting the dog? Come oooooooooon. Anyway, you can view the streamed footage below, as well as some new screenshots that were recently released! The official Call of Duty: Ghosts trailer was released yesterday. Naturally, some people were excited about it, while other felt that those visuals could not compare with those of Crysis 3 or even Battlefield 4. And it appears that COD: Ghosts’ lighting system is seriously messed up at its current state. Continue reading Official Call of Duty: Ghosts Trailer Reveals A ‘Fake’ Lighting System→
Microsoft has officially announced Xbox One, the next Xbox console that is planned for release later this year. During this event – which was disappointing to say the least – Activision has revealed the official trailer of Call of Duty: Ghosts. Call of Duty: Ghosts is planned for release on next-gen platforms and will be powered by a brand new engine. Quite honestly, we don’t see anything that we haven’t seen in Crysis 3. But then again, what do we know? Enjoy the trailer after the jump! Continue reading Call of Duty: Ghosts – Official Reveal Trailer→
