First DDR5 Memory kit tested on Intel Alder Lake Desktop CPU platform, shows impressive performance gains over DDR4

It appears that some memory manufacturers are using Intel’s upcoming 12th gen “Alder Lake-S” desktop CPU platform to test the full potential of next-gen DDR5 memory. Intel to pay $2.18 billion in damages to VLSI for violating two of its patents

It appears that Intel has to pay $2.2 billion in damages after a patent trial loss to VLSI, as reported by SeekingAlpha. A federal jury in Waco, Texas ruled that Intel violated two patents of Fortress Investment Group’s VLSI Technology and must pay $2.18B in damages, for violating two of its patents. Intel discontinues the Performance Tuning Protection Plan, PTPP, for all eligible K-series CPUs

It appears that Intel has officially discontinued its Performance Tuning Protection Plan (PTPP), an optional support plan which provided specific benefits in addition to Intel’s standard processor warranty.
