Square Enix and IO Interactive have unveiled – via the game’s FB page – that Hitman: Absolution will release world-wide on November 20th 2012. Those of you who pre-order the game will get the Hitman: Sniper Challenge instantly. The code will be redeemable from May 15th on PS3 and Xbox360, August 1st on PC through Steam and you can view its debut trailer after the jump. Square Enix has released a new trailer for the latest part of the Hitman franchise, Hitman: Absolution. In this video, the company showcases how agent 47 can deal with his enemies. Long story short, players will be able to take their enemies out silently or violently. Hitman: Absolution is slated for a 2012 release on current generation consoles and PC and looks quite promising. Let’s just hope that the AI will be sharp and challenging. IO Interactive has announced that they will be present in this year’s GDC2012 to showcase their new game engine that powers their upcoming Hitman title. Built from the ground up by the team at IO, Glacier 2 was tailored to meet the demands of the development team and enable them to realize their vision for Hitman: Absolution. A key requirement for this vision is to have very dense crowds which allow players to both interact with and influence the behavior of each individual character. After watching the E3 2011 footage, we felt a bit underwhelmed about the latest adventures of Hitman. You see, one of the main concerns about the upcoming Hitman game was its gameplay direction and whether or not the stealth mechanics have been dumbed down. To make things worse, an ‘Eagle mode’ was present that felt out of place, especially for a Hitman game. If you were one of those disappointed fans, rejoice. Why? Hitman fans, here is the walkthrough video that Square Enix and IO Interactive has promised us and to be honest, we have mixed feelings about this footage. The game already looks polished but seems to suffer from a ‘Splinter Cell: Conviction’ syndrome. The covering system is a nice addition that will be appreciated by everyone but that Eagle vision is simply retarted. Yeah, IO Interactive added it for all the newcomers but seriously now?
