Rockstar has released a new update for the PC version of Max Payne 3 that adds a mouse acceleration option to the controls menu, an aspect ratio setting to the graphics menu, adds text chat to lobbies by default and fixes the MSAA white outline. This update will be auto-downloaded the next time you start the Steam client and you can view its complete changelog below. Color us impressed. Although Rockstar stated that they’d offer us a proper PC version of Max Payne 3, we had our doubts. You see, after the awful GTA IV port, we couldn’t help but be suspicious about it. And even though some gamers claimed that there were gains with a quad-core, we can confirm today that most of them saw a performance jump due to moving on to CPUs with a better architecture. GTA IV runs the same on a dual-core and a quad-core CPU of the same family, proving that it does not actually take advantage of the extra cores. Rockstar has released the first patch for the PC version of Max Payne 3. This patch addresses the ‘0MB of video memory’ issues, resolves stuttering on some video cards, fixes reported issues of game locked in incorrect aspect ratio, fixes issues of mouse acceleration affecting aiming and adds a commandline option to disable mouse acceleration. The patch will be auto-downloaded next time you start the game and you can view its complete changelog below. Rockstar has released the official PC trailer of Max Payne 3. In addition, the game is – finally – available for preload on Steam, so make sure to open your Steam client and preload it as it’s around 35GB in size. Following yesterday’s PC screenshots, we are happy to inform you about some new features of Max Payne 3 PC. A lot of gamers wondered whether the PC version would feature higher quality textures and what was the reason behind the 35GB of disk space requirements. Rockstar has revealed three new screenshots for the upcoming PC version of Max Payne 3, and as we can, it does look sexy and up-to-date with lots of modern-day PC titles. Max Payne 3 is currently slated for a June 1st release and will take advantage of DX11 and tessellation. Let’s just hope that Rockstar’s third person shooter won’t perform identical to GTA IV. The PC version of Max Payne 3 will be released in a couple of days and most of you are wondering how this bad boy will run on your machine, right? Well, time to find out. Rockstar and Nvidia have released the official benchmark chart for Max Payne 3 that can be viewed below. As we can see, an Nvidia 8800GT will be enough for a ‘console’ experience (with even better graphics), whereas a GTX560Ti will get you 60fps overall in 1080p with High settings and FXAA. Now that’s a great easter egg. Back in March, Rockstar released some new screenshots of Max Payne 3 and this easter egg passed unnoticed. It took some time to uncover it and thankfully, Reddit’s member ‘countrygranne’ hinted a connection between a character enemy of Max Payne 3 and Call of Duty.
