Reddit’s member ‘vertexnormal‘ – who is a former Maxis developer – has talked a bit about the closure of Maxis Emeryville, and shed some additional light to it. According to vertexnormal, Maxis Emeryville was closed because the SimCity series was it suffered from The Sims’ huge success. And even though the older SimCity games made a profit, they were not even close to what The Sims had achieved. Electronic Arts Shuts Down Maxis Emeryville
Well, we all saw that coming. After the hugely disappointing latest part of the SimCity series, EA decided to pull the plug and shut down the studio that was behind it. Yeap, Maxis Emeryville, the team responsible for Spore and the SimCity series, is no more. And while a dedicated team of ex-Maxis devs is hired by EA in order to keep SimCity alive, we kind of expect to see this game being abandoned really soon. The Sims 4 – Recommended PC Requirements Revealed
Electronic Arts and Maxis have revealed the recommended PC requirements for The Sims 4. According to the game’s official FAQ, PC gamers will need an Intel Core i5 or faster or AMD Athlon X4 and an NVIDIA GTX 650 GPU (or better) in order to properly enjoy this new sim.
