During GAME24, Microsoft revealed DirectX 11.3. DX11.3 will be supported by all existing DX11 GPUs (or at least that’s the plan) and will be made available next year. DX11.3 will feature almost all features of DX12 (albeit its lower CPU Overhead benefits). This means that DX11.3 will support Ordered Rasterizer View or Rasterizer Ordered Views, Typed UAV Load, Volume Tiled Resources and Conservative Grid. YouTube’s ‘TheDeadaTTicus’ has managed to finished Halo: Combat Evolved in just one and a half hours (in Legendary difficulty). Confirmed: Microsoft Buys Mojang, Markus ‘Notch’ Persson To Share Personal Thoughts Soon
And it has just been confirmed. Mojang has been bought by Microsoft. As Mojang revealed, Microsoft has bought them for 2.5 billion dollars. Obviously that’s a lot of money, however we find it ironic that Notch – the person that cancelled the Oculus Rift version of Minecraft the moment it has been bought by Facebook – has given the green light to such a thing. Or in other words, better watch out what you say because your own statements may come back to bite you. Fable Anniversary – Now Available On Steam, Comes With Limited Mod Support
Microsoft has just released Fable Anniversary on the PC, and oh boy does this port sounds… awful. According to various reports, there are no mouse controls in menus, there is no key rebinding (at least via the main menu), disappointing visuals and the internal resolution seems to be locked at 720p (though that has not been confirmed yet).

DirectX 12 Promises To Offer Significant Performance Gains, Showcased At This Year’s SIGGRAPH
During this year’s SIGGRAPH, Intel showcased the latest API of Microsoft, DX12. Intel’s demo is perhaps the first public demo of DX12 (well, if we exclude the Forza 5 demo) and what’s interesting here is that the performance difference between DX11 and DX12 is around 50% on a Surface Pro 3 tablet. Computex TAIPEI 2014 – AMD Showcases Performance Difference Between DirectX & Mantle
During Computex TAIPEI 2014, AMD showed off the performance difference between Microsoft’s DirectX and Mantle, and today the red team released a video from it. AMD used an AMD FX-8350 8-core CPU with an AMD Radeon R9 290X and the performance difference in Starswarm was around 50fps. While Starswarm ran in particular scenes with 2-4fps via DX11, the same benchmark on the same hardware ran with 55fps under Mantle. Enjoy the video after the jump!
