VoxelFarm Engine Showcases What Minecraft Would Look Like With Modern Visuals

VoxelFarm Engine
Ever wondered what a modern-day version of Minecraft would look like? Well, the man behind VoxelFarm had – most probably – the same question in his head when he started creating it. VoxelFarm is a voxel engine that supports meshes and features a procedurally generated terrain. It looks cool and is programmed by an individual, Miguel Cepero. Miguel and some friends will be creating a game with this tech that will allow large numbers of players to come together, or play solo if they want to. The core idea will be to explore new interesting places, claim them, and develop them. Miguel has released two new videos for this engine that can be viewed below. Cyberpunk 2077 Trailer Recreated In Minecraft

Cyberpunk 2077 v2
Pixel Shavers, a team from Poland, has recreated CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 CG trailer in Minecraft. According to the video’s description, the skins and textures that have been used were made by EviEviice, the map was created by Voerity and the trailer was put together by MineImator. It looks kind of cool, though the difference between this pixel-fest and the original CG trailer is huge. Nevertheless, those interested can give this video a go! Minecraft PC Surpasses 9 Million Sold Copies

Minecraft modded
Minecraft is a killer app, we already knew that. What’s interesting though is that the game’s sales are not slowing down at all. According to its official site, the PC version of Minecraft has sold over 9 million copies. Guess PC gaming is not dead after all, right? Nevertheless, it’s also astonishing how successful Minecraft, a game with low system requirements, can actually be. We’re also wondering whether a next-gen version of Minecraft would boost those numbers or not. Continue reading Minecraft PC Surpasses 9 Million Sold Copies

This is what a next-generation version of Minecraft could look like

Minecraft
Now this is really interesting. Reddit’s user ‘okitobi2’ shared an image of what supposedly a CryEngine 3 version of Minecraft could look like. Unfortunately for everyone, this picture does not seem like a mod or standalone project created with CryEngine 3’s SDK, but rather a real image that suggests how close a CryEngine 3-powered Minecraft game could look like. In other words, don’t expect it to look this good. And even though this might put off some people, another Redditor has shared a video from a game with a procedural world, powered by Crytek’s engine, that looks sweet as hell. This video shows indeed what a next-gen version of Minecraft could look like, even though we’d ask for textures of even higher quality. Enjoy! CraftedMovie has uploaded an interesting Minecraft machinima, in which we get to see what a Lion King game or film would look like with Minecraft’s assets, characters and graphics. It looks pretty amazing and took the team a lot of time to achieve that. On the other hand, Far Cry 3 mapper ‘Krazee DD’ has released a mini Lost map for Ubisoft’s sandbox title. Unfortunately, this map is for the X360 version of Far Cry 3, but you can view a flythrough video below. Enjoy! Continue reading Lost Map recreated in Far Cry 3, Lion King recreated in Minecraft
