Mojang has revealed that their turn-based game, Scrolls, has entered its alpha stage. And since it managed to enter this alpha phase, a number of mails with codes will be sent to the first bunch of testers for it. As the team stated, Scrolls is still missing a lot of features and content that they plan on implementing over the upcoming months. Alpha testers should also keep in mind that Mojang will – most certainly – be changing many of the current scrolls in the game during this time. Continue reading Mojang’s Scrolls enters Alpha Phase→
That’s hilarious. Pixbits have informed us that Mojang’s lawyers have contacted them for copyright infringements. Little is known about the reasons of it, but it seems that the word ‘Minecraft’ was enough to get this indie studio into trouble. According to Notch himself, this could be because Pixbits might have used the “minecraft” trademark somewhere in their game description. Seriously now? Getting into trouble for using the word “minecraft”? Seems the whole Bethesda thing had a – negative – impact on Mojang after all. Ironically, Notch said back then that Minecraft would have those features if he ever got around finishing it. Fast forward three years and Minecraft is the most successful indie game, Notch is a millionaire and Mojang is a reality. Just wow. Now this is really interesting. Earlier this week, Markus Persson suggested Double Fine to self fund a sequel to Psychonauts by doing more crowd funding. No, that’s incorrect. Markus said that he’d do exactly that if he was in Tim Schafer’s shoes, so… well… yeah, he suggested that. Anyway, a lot of the press covered it and thought that Markus suggested Double Fine to start a Kickstarter for Psychonauts 2. I mean, that’s one way of how the crowd can fund a game, right? Which is fine by us but it seems that Cliff Bleszinski was annoyed by all this thing.
