Here are some good new for all Witcher fans out there. CD Projekt RED has just announced that The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings’ digital sales have exceeded their expectations as the game has sold, in its first quarter, nearly a quarter of a million units. Naturally, the best distribution platform was Valve’s Steam where The Witcher 2 sold 195,000 units, whereas CD Projekt RED’s service, GoG.com, has sold 35,000 copies of DRM-free copies. In July, we’ve informed you about some rumors regarding a future PC version of Saber Interactive’s third person game, Inversion. Although Namco didn’t comment on those, it seems that the giant Japanese company has accidentally revealed the PC version of this anticipated game as they’ve included the PC platform on the press release of Inversion’s latest trailer that was released today. Now sure this inclusion could be accidental but the very same thing happened with the PC versions of SFxT and Sonic: Generations – before they were officially announced. Even though The Witcher 2 has some of the best textures we’ve seen so far, modder TC1984 went ahead and enhanced them by using Gibbed RED Tools, QuickBMS and Photoshop. The end result is even more crisper textures that can really be appreciated when you are pretty close to them. This texture pack is currently at its 1.2 version which among other things, replaces some grass & moss texture files with matched colors. With the release of The Witcher 2’s version 2.0 two days away, CD Projekt RED released the official changelog for it. Alongside the new Tutorial mode and the Dark Difficulty, this upcoming patch features over 40 changes, improvements and additions. The combat mechanics have been tweaked and there are some changes that might please all those that criticized The Witcher 2’s fighting system.
