Arauna2 Introduced – New Path Tracer Engine That Uses Nvidia’s CUDA

Arauna2

Our reader ‘ihatedisqus3’ has also informed us about a new path tracer engine called Arauna2. Arauna2 is the successor to the CPU-based Arauna real-time ray tracer. It uses GPU path tracing to render scenes with global illumination and depth of field, at a speed that enables real-time previewing: during camera movement, images are noisy, but as soon as the camera stands still, the final image starts to converge. PhysX water

Our reader ‘ihatedisqus3’ (I know, I know… pretty hilarious nickname) has informed us about Nvidia’s FLEX system, a multi-physics solver for visual effects that will be integrated in PhysX 3.4. Nvidia’s FLEX was showcased a while back and today we got some new info – thanks to Physxinfo. Continue reading More details unveiled for Nvidia’s FLEX; a multi-physics solver for visual effects

AMD Kaveri APU Showcased, Has Double The Performance Of Intel 4770K With A GeForce GT630

AMD

AMD’s Developer Summit is currently underway and yesterday the company showcased its new APU, the Kaveri. AMD’s Kaveri – the A10-7850K – was put against an Intel i7-4770K paired with an Nvidia GeForce GT630. Without a discrete GPU – and without taking advantage of the Mantle API – the A10-7850K has double the performance of the aforementioned combo in Battlefield 4. There is a video from that demonstration that can be viewed below. AMD’s Kaveri APU was running Battlefield 4 at 1080p and medium settings with 28-40fps while the i7-4770K + GeForce GT630 combo was running it with 12-15fps. AMD’s Kaveri APU will be released in the first quarter of 2014. Enjoy! Continue reading AMD Kaveri APU Showcased, Has Double The Performance Of Intel 4770K With A GeForce GT630

Nvidia Releases A Launch Trailer For Its Latest & Fastest Single GPU, The GeForce 780Ti

Nvidia GeForce 780Ti

Nvidia has released the launch trailer for its latest and fastest single GPU, the GeForce 780Ti, in which Andrew Coonrad introduces the card to the public. The GeForce 780Ti is described as super fast, whisper quiet and cool. Heh, guess Nvidia did really use these last two terms on purpose, especially after all the debate regarding Radeon R9 290X’s temperature and noise level. The NDA for this new GPU has also been lifted, so expect to find a lot of reviews on the Internet. Enjoy! Nvidia’s ShadowPlay Got Leaked – Record Your Playthroughs The Nvidia Way

Nvidia

Nvidia’s ShadowPlay service is planned for a worldwide beta launch tomorrow, however it seems that the application got leaked a day prior to that date. Spotted by NeoGAF’s member ‘Sethos’, this application lets you record your playthrough via Nvidia’s GPUs. The upside of this method is that the performance hit of it is significantly smaller than the one witnessed with FRAPS. The downside is that ShadowPlay records up to 20 minutes and does not provide a RAW file. Continue reading Nvidia’s ShadowPlay Got Leaked – Record Your Playthroughs The Nvidia Way

Nvidia Tech Videos Try To Illustrate The Difference Between G-Sync & V-Sync

Nvidia G-SYNC

During its recent press event, Nvidia tried to illustrate the difference between G-Sync and V-Sync. As you may already know, G-Sync cannot be captured via regular cameras. Therefore, Nvidia claimed that a perfect V-Sync video (constant 60fps v-sync) is what G-Sync basically offers, even when the actual in-game framerate drops at 40fps. In order to showcase the huge difference, the green team compared the simulated G-Sync experience with a ‘real-world’ V-Sync experience, and PCGamesHardware was able to captured two examples from this comparison. Enjoy! Continue reading Nvidia Tech Videos Try To Illustrate The Difference Between G-Sync & V-Sync
