Last week, we informed you about a big announcement that would be made on April 28th. Back then, we predicted that the announcement would be about an Nvidia dual-card and it appears we were right. Nvidia revealed yesterday their high-end dual card, called GTX690. GTX 690 consists of 2 Kepler GPUs and uses a 10-phase power supply to allow maximum overclocking. Its 300 watts of GPU is kept cool with dual water-vapor chambers directly on the GPUs, nickel-plated fins to prevent tarnishing/oxidation, and a fan spinning at 3000 RPM. The GTX 690 also uses an aluminum frame with all components bolted down to create a duct of air flow. Continue reading Nvidia Officially Announces GTX 690; the fastest GPU card on the market→
We are living in exciting times. Although GTX680 is a damn beast, we could very well see a dual-GPU topping it as Nvidia is preparing for a special announcement at GeForce LAN / NVIDIA Gaming Festival (NGF) 2012 in Shanghai, China. The company has revealed an image that shows a new card and if you can recall, that image was leaked a while ago. Not only that, but earlier yesterday, Nvidia sent out a crowbar labeled with the GeForce logo to the guys at Hardwareheaven. And it’s finally here with us. Kepler, the next codenamed Nvidia card, has been launched and comes with some amazing features. The card supports up to 7 monitors, a new feature called GPU Boost that raises the clocks of the card for a limited time, Adaptive Vsync, FXAA, while on the other hand 3D Vision Surround gaming is now possible with only one GPU. Not only that, but GTX 680 is power efficient as it averages around 175W and comes with the best overall performance. Continue reading Nvidia GTX 680 Round-Up; Nvidia retakes the performance crown→
Following the NDA lift on GTX680, Nvidia has also released the first official drivers for their new Kepler cards. As we’ve reported earlier last week, these new drivers support an amazing feature called adaptive Vsync and as we’d expected, this feature is available to all Nvidia cards. Although these first 3xx.xx drivers are for Kepler owners, Nvidia users can install them with some custom .INF files. You can find links for both the drivers and the custom .INF files after the jump. Enjoy and happy benchmarking! Continue reading Nvidia GeForce WHQL 301.10 Released; Adaptive Vsync and FXAA available to everyone→
The first benchmarks of Kepler will be released in the following days and we can’t wait to see what the green team has in store for us. It is said that the card is a beast when it comes to raw performance numbers and features some pretty interesting features. One of them is the dynamic framerate function when played in Surround and another one is an adaptive vertical sync solution. But did you know that John Carmack was the one that has pushed for such a feature? Continue reading Nvidia’s Kepler sports a ‘game-changing’ adaptive vertical sync feature; pushed by John Carmack→
Nvidia has released a new WHQL version of their ForceWare drivers. GeForce 296.10 WHQL come with performance boosts for a variety of games, especially when it comes to SLI. Nvidia demonstrated in this year’s GDC the latest version of their PhysX SDK. The new PhysX SDK comes with some impressive fur rendering support, as the company showcased a bear that contained 840.000 particles simulated as 100.000 invidual strands of fur. Those strands of fur could be interacted in real-time and the end result was close enough to Pixar’s CG movies. That was really great but nothing had prepared for what was about to follow. Alan Wake has just been released and as we’ve informed you, there isn’t currently any SLI profile for it. But alas, the PC community has found a temporary workaround for it. A lot of Nvidia users have been testing the available SLI profiles to see whether or not there was an SLI profile that could offer great scaling. Naturally, running the game in AFR2 let’s you use your SLI cards but unfortunately, the scaling is awful. Not only that, but there is a negative performance hit when SLI is enabled via that option. However, there is no reason to panic SLI owners, as there is a workaround and a game profile that offers great SLI scaling. Continue reading Alan Wake PC – SLI Workaround with amazing scaling→
