Obsidian Entertainment Wants To Create A New Star Wars RPG

KOTOR 2 is considered one of the best Star Wars RPG games. It’s also considered as one of the buggiest games of all time (although Vampires: The Masquerade had even more bugs in our opinion). Still – and after the restoration mod for it – a lot of gamers want to see another Star Wars RPG, developed by the Obsidian team. Or at least that’s the vibe we get. Speaking with RPS, Obsidian’s CEO Feargus Urquhart admitted that the company is looking forward to creating a new Star Wars RPG, based between Episodes III and IV. Project Eternity Breaks PC Kickstarter Records; Hits Its $3.5 Million Goal

Before Project Eternity, Double Fine’s Adventure was the most successful PC Kickstarter project. Well, that has changed as Obsidian’s RPG has managed to earn $3.5 million and has hit its biggest stretched goal. This means that a new big city will be featured in Project Eternity. The game was originally meant to feature one city but after reaching its biggest goal, a second will be added to it. Project Eternity – First Screenshot Revealed

Obsidian Entertainment has released the first screenshot of Project Eternity and it looks bloody gorgeous. Project Eternity is an isometric, party-based computer RPG set in a new fantasy world, that aims to recapture the magic, imagination, depth, and nostalgia of classic RPG’s that we enjoyed making – and playing. Its Kickstarter campaign ends in 5 days and the company has managed to earn 2.7 million dollars. Obsidian Entertainment has revealed some new details about its upcoming CRPG, Project Eternity. As the company suggests, the game is still in early stage and they are still working on many of the cultures, factions, and ethnic groups of the world and debating many of the system concepts. Project Enternity hits half of its Kickstarter goal in only six hours [UPDATE]

Now this is bloody amazing. Obsidian’s Project Eternity has managed to surpass half of its Kickstarter goal in only six hours. Project Eternity’s goal is 1.1 million dollars and the amount that has been pledged is currently around 650K dollars. It’s safe to say that the game will be funded, and we’re pretty sure that this will happen this weekend. Our reader ‘Sid’ has informed us about a new, teaser website from Obsidian Entertainment. According to this site, a new game is under development by this talented studio. Yes yes, all of Obsidian’s games were buggy as hell but there is no doubt that this company can deliver good games, provided they get the time to polish them before release.
