Grinding Gear Games announced today that the highly anticipated action role-playing game (RPG) Path of Exile will enter Open Beta on January 23. The game is currently in Closed Beta but has already raised over USD$1.8 million in crowd-funded support, with those supporters gaining early access to the beta. Act 3 of the Path of Exile story will also be unveiled, in which players will explore abandoned docks, markets, temples and sewers in the ruined city of Sarn to further uncover the dark truth of their exile. Grinding Gear Games has released a new beta patch for its free-to-play action RPG title, Path Of Exile. Path Of Exile is currently under a closed beta phase and this update introduces numerous fixes, re-balance tweaks, and new features to the game. Unfortunately, Grinding Gear’s aRPG does not offer – yet – PvP, as this mode will be added with the next update. This patch will be auto-downloaded via the game’s launcher and you can view its complete changelog below. Grinding Gear Games has revealed that the next beta version of Path of Exile is slated for release next week and will feature at least five new player-designed Unique items, increased difficulty for Cruel, Ruthless and Merciless by adjusting monster damage and pack sizes, item comparison by pressing the Alt key while hovering over the item, short-duration timed loot allocation, and the ability to make your party public by giving it a name on the party screen. Good news keep on coming for fans of action ‘hack n slash’ RPGs. Earlier today we informed you about the success of Grim Dawn’s Kickstarter Campaign and we are happy to report now that the second Public Stress Test Weekend for Path of Exile will be initiated on May 11th. Grinding Gear Games will make the servers public at 5pm on Friday (May 11), Pacific Daylight Time and will end at 11:59pm on Sunday (April May 13), Pacific Daylight Time. Grinding Gear Games have released the new 0.9.7 Beta of their free-to-play hack n slash RPG, Path of Exile. This new Beta build comes with a lot of new content, new taunt animations to many monsters, updated party screen, both cosmetically and functionally, as well as some balance changes. We should note that Path of Exile’s higher difficulty levels are a lot more difficult than before. According to the developers, it’s expected that players will have to pick defensive options in order to be able to survive as they’ve wiped all the passive skills again.
