PC Is The Third Most Profitable Platform For Ubisoft In Q2 2016
Ubisoft has just revealed its latest financial results and according to them, the PC platform is the third most profitable platform for the French publisher. The first one is PS4, followed by “Other” platforms (mainly mobile devices) and then we find the PC. The PC has managed to surpass all old-gen consoles, as well as Microsoft’s Xbox One. And here is another big surprise for all PC gamers. After EA, Konami and Ubisoft, here comes Activision to join the PC-bandwagon. While all these publishers will never admit how important to them the PC platform actually is (you all know why okay okay, Ubisoft already did), their financial results show the PC platform leading the charts (or being among the two/three most profitable platforms). PC Is Still A Very Important Platform For Electronic Arts, Almost As Profitable As Each Current-Gen Console
Electronic Arts has issued its Q1 and Q2 2016 financial stats and as we can see, PC remains a really profitable platform for the big publisher. According to EA’s stats, the PC GAAP net revenue was 23% in Q2 2016 and 21% in Q1 2016, whereas the current-gen (PS4 + Xbox One) GAAP net revenue was 41% in both Q1 and Q2 2016. If we assume that PS4 and Xbox One have the same sales, then PC is the leading platform for the company’s GAAP results.
