Joran Mechner is the creator of the original Prince of Persia title. He begun developing the game in 1985, the same year he graduated from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. At that time, he had already developed the game Karateka. It was a martial arts action game originally programmed for the Apple II.
It’s been a while since our last news about the new/rumored Prince of Persia game, don’t you think? Well, good news for those interested in this franchise as the game’s FB page teased some incoming news about it. According to the FB page, we’ll be getting news about Prince of Persia next week. We don’t know whether Ubisoft is teasing a new iOS game or a proper, next-gen sequel to this beloved franchise, so we’ll have to wait and see. A new leaked image – that was initially posted at Ubisoft’s official forum – indicates that a new Prince of Persia game is under development. According to the image, this new Prince of Persia will support DX11 on the PC and might be called Prince of Persia: Zero 2. This could also mean that this new Prince of Persia game could be a title for next-generation consoles. Ironically, this scene seems to be running with a really low framerate, meaning that Ubisoft needs to start optimizing its engine. Prince of Persia was such a classic title but who can forget that awful stopping animation, right? Or the fact that you could die so easily from a fall. Therefore, it comes as no surprise to see a parody about it. Karahat is a new Israeli comedy group that went ahead and created the following real-life parody for this classic and they’ve managed to nail every aspect of the game.
