Slightly Mad Studios are very lucky. Instead of creating their own trailers, they are relying on the videos that are being captured and produced by the game’s community members. Today, we bring you a new, unofficial DX11 trailer for it that was created by YouTube’s member ‘HDTanel’. HDTanel was also the creator of the first unofficial DX11 trailer that we posted back in January. In addition, YouTube’s member ‘DERIYsato’ has uploaded a gorgeous timelapse video for it. Enjoy! Slightly Mad Studios have released some new community shots for Project CARS. As usual, the shots show purely in-game footage that has not been made in any special photo mode with no post-processing or filters that aren’t available during the actual gameplay. Special thanks to LEOVGKI, WALKERIE, RODRIGO BORBA, WIZZA, MANGUST, DUDE27, KELNOR34, BEN BUJA, TREFLE, SPIDEY, WAXXFETISH, TERRONIUM-12, TJC, GTWELSH, PLM5, R3DF0X and YOFLOEMA for capturing them. We’ve also included some rFactor 2 shots from BSNismo that have been touched in terms of contrast, bloom and blur on tyres (things that could be easily supported in the final version of the game). Enjoy! Continue reading New Community Screenshots for Project CARS and rFactor 2→
YouTube’s member ‘ChronoVersatur’ has uploaded an amazing DX11 trailer for Slightly Mad Studios’ racing game, Project CARS. It looks spectacular, so give it a go. Project CARS is currently slated for a March 2013 release. Enjoy! Continue reading The beauty of Project CARS; New DX11 Community Trailer→
YouTube member ‘Bermudakid’ uploaded a new, impressive community trailer for Slightly Mad Studios’ racing game, Project CARS. What’s really great about this unofficial trailer is that it shows footage from a lot of circuits and cars. The trailer is based on the Pre-Alpha Build 192 and looks amazing. Naturally, there is room for improvements (crowd is static for the time being, environments lack detail and there are various low-res textures on some mountains). Overall though, it looks pretty impressive so make sure to check it out. Special thanks to Rage3D’s user ‘Mahjik’ for spotting it. Enjoy! While we’re waiting for Slightly Mad Studios to release their weekly community screenshots, we felt the need to share some more Project CARS screenshots from modder Gionight. Quite frankly, nothing can come close to the image fidelity of Project CARS and let’s keep in mind that everything you see is from its pre-alpha stage. And contrary to other games, the game does look this good when you’re gaming. These are not shots from photomode or anything like that. Enjoy! Continue reading New Project CARS Community Screenshots→
YouTube’s member ‘Jonz66’ made an interesting comparison video between Project CARS and Shift 2. Jonz66 captured footage from the Bathurst track and we can immediately notice some differences between them. In Shift 2, players wre complaining about the cars ‘sliding’ and thankfully for them, this sliding effect is not present in pCARs. In addition, both the lighting and the shadowing system seems better in Project CARS. Shift 2 wins when it comes to environmental detail but we should keep in mind that Project CARS is still in pre-alpha stage. Project CARS looks amazing, there is no doubt about that. But what happens when well-known modder ‘Gionight’ decides to implement his personal FXAA preset? Simple. You get some drooling screenshots that showcase what a well tweaked lighting mod can actually do. Project CARS is currently slated for a March 2013 release and the following screenshots were captured in DX9 mode. Enjoy! Continue reading New Project CARS Modded Screenshots by Gionight→
Slightly Mad Studios have released some new, amazing screenshots for their arcade/sim racer, Project CARS. The company has released 44 shots, but we decided to choose only those that looked great. Since some of you have been asking this question, know this: the following shots show purely in-game footage that has not been made in any special photo mode with no post-processing or filters that aren’t available during the actual gameplay. In other words, Project CARS looks that good. And did we mention that one shot shows tire deformation? Enjoy! Continue reading New Project CARS Community Screenshots→

A month ago, Build 164 of Project CARS introduced an early version of the dynamic lighting system that allows racing at day & night and everything in between. However, the development team has been busy refining the system and today we bring you new previews of the lighting system’s latest evolution.
