iD Software’s first patch for RAGE locked most of the console commands that a lot of PC gamers were using. Let’s be honest here, we are really put off by RAGE’s graphics quality. Even with all the tweaks to avoid the annoying texture pop-in, the game suffers from really low-quality textures. Add to that the pre-baked shadows, old-generation shaders and limited dynamic lighting and you get a game that could be easily released several years ago. Bethesda has just released the first PC patch for the latest FPS game from iD Software, RAGE. As was promised, this patch adds – among other things – some video options with which players can adjust their gaming experience. Contrary to the console versions of RAGE, the PC one is safe and hasn’t been leaked yet. That could change though as Steam has just announced that RAGE is now available for pre-load. The game’s size is 21.6GB and there is a possibility that some groups might try to crack it before release.
