Alan Wake PC Patch will hit Steam next week, major fixes for SLI and 3D Vision

Great news for Nvidia users, as Remedy has almost finished the work on their latest update for the PC version of Alan Wake. According to the developers, the third update of Alan Wake PC will come with SLI support and major fixes for Nvidia’s 3D Vision. Unfortunately, the update will not hit Steam this weekend, however there might be a beta version of it later today or tomorrow. Remedy: Finished the SLI fixes for Alan Wake PC, working on 3D Vision

Nvidia users have been waiting patiently for a working SLI profile of Alan Wake PC. It took Remedy a while, but they have finally finished the SLI fixes for the game. Although the company had previously stated that they would release the fixes the moment they were completed, Remedy’s co-founder Sami Vanhatalo said that they have to wait first for the next driver update of Nvidia (that will include an SLI profile for the game). Alan Wake PC Update #2 Released; reduced CPU usage, improved mouse responsiveness, removed auto-aim

Remedy and Nordic Games have released the second patch for the PC version of Alan Wake. This new update comes with improved low level mouse reading routines to make the control cope better with low and variable frame rates, reduced CPU use when game doesn’t have focus, as well as a -directaiming command line parameter that removes all mouse acceleration. Alan Wake PC – Beta Patch #2 is now available, no fix for SLI users yet

A couple of weeks ago, Remedy revealed their patch roadmap for the PC version of Alan Wake and normally, the second patch of Alan Wake PC would be coming out today. Unfortunately, the company didn’t manage to get roll out this patch in time, however you can already give it a go as it has been released via the beta patch approach of Steam. All you’ll have to do is add the “-beta AWBeta” command in your Steam client shortcut. Now when you restart your Steam client, you should see a v1.03 patch for Alan Wake downloading. AlanWTool brings mod support to Alan Wake PC; potentially high-res texture packs in the near future

I tell you, modders are crazy. Remember when Remedy announced that they would not release mod tools for the PC version of Alan Wake? A lot of gamers were disappointed with that statement, however modder ‘evin’ decided to go ahead and figure out a way to unlock the game’s data files. Fast forward a couple of days and here we are today with the AlanWTool, a tool that can be used to unpack Alan Wake’s data files. Alan Wake PC Patch 1.02 released; comes with better mouse controls and better CPU thread assignment

As promised, Remedy has released the first patch for Alan Wake PC. This update comes with better mouse controls and CPU thread assignment for 3-Core AMD machines, as well as unofficial support for running the game in lower resolutions than 1024×768 and a fix for the flickering trees on Nvidia cards. Alan Wake FXAA Injector boosts the game’s atmosphere, Remedy explains why SLI is not supported

And here is the first mod for Alan Wake PC. Well… kind of. Remedy’s community member ‘john129pats’ has released a settings profile for FXAA Injector, the famous tool that was used heavily in Skyrim. This FXAA profile is said to enhance the atmosphere by making nights darker, and making your flashlight stand out. The profile comes with Desaturation, Extra Anti-Aliasing, Bloom,Light Sharpening, Darker Nights and Brighter Lights. You can find the download link, as well as some comparisons below. Alan Wake PC Update Coming This Week; Second Update Coming Next Week

This is just awesome. Remedy’s Markus has just revealed the PC Patch roadmap for Alan Wake and PC gamers will get on their hands two updates by the end of next week. Remedy will release a patch this week that will address various issues that are already fixed. Sadly, SLI support won’t be included but there is a high probability to see it in the second patch that is slated for release next week. Unfortunately for all 3D lovers, Stereoscopic 3D will take a backseat and will be improved at a future patch. You can view the changelog for the upcoming patches below. Enjoy! Alan Wake PC Profitable in less than 48 Hours; Remedy happy with the game’s sales

So, you’ve been wondering about Alan Wake’s PC sales, right? Well, everything seems to be going great for Remedy’s little gem. The game is currently at the second place of Steam’s weekly Charts and has managed to hit #1 on Steam at launch day. Remedy has stated a few days ago that they were happy with the game’s sales, however they didn’t reveal any numbers. But look and behold; Alan Wake PC is profitable in less than 48 hours.
