Well, we might have to wait a little bit longer, as Remedy’s Community Manager, Peter Papadopoulos, revealed that the PC FAQ for Alan Wake will most likely be released this week. Alan Wake PC is slated for a Q1 2012 release and as a result of that, more and more details are hitting the web. So, this past week, Remedy’s Markus confirmed that there will be an option to hide – entirely – your HUD, while the game’s save system will remain the same with the X360’s version, meaning that you’ll rely on checkpoints and that you won’t be able to free save anywhere you want. Back in the days, the PC version of Alan Wake – the one that was cancelled – was not supposed to be compatible with DX9 and Windows XP. As we had guessed back then, that DX10 requirement was simply a marketing trick from Microsoft in an attempt to boost Vista’s sales. Fast forward a couple of years and here we are today with a new PC build for Alan Wake that will support DX9. Yeap, you read that right and it’s official. Remedy has just launched a new website for their Alan Wake series. PC fans will be pleased to see the PC logo at the bottom of the site and as was stated earlier, the game is currently slated for an early 2012 release on the PC. So PC gamers, Alan Wake is coming to our platform. Wonder what changes were made? Well, here are some new details about that were revealed by Remedy’s writer, Mikki Rautalahti. According to Mikki, Remedy – with the help of Sandbox Strategies – are self-publishing the PC version of Alan Wake. Mikki said that Remedy was also frustrated with the fact that they could not port Alan Wake to the PC as it was out of their hands at the time. In other words, it seems that Remedy have reclaimed the rights of Alan Wake, otherwise they would not be able to self-publish it. With Alan Wake coming to the PC, it was only natural to wonder whether or not its sequel, American Nightmare, would find its way to our beloved platform. Since some of you asked us about it, we contacted Remedy to find out. Unfortunately though, the news are not so good for our PC fans.
