Now this is just awesome. Serious Sam : The Retro Encounter is a Serious Sam 3 mod for Doom 2 that looks remarkably amazing. Since this is a Doom 2 mod, everything is made of 2D sprites. The mod is being made by SeriousZone forum member ‘Batandy’ and ‘Duke_Nume’ and is basically a tribute to Croteam’s latest Serious Sam game and the team is trying to make it as similiar as it can to The Second Encounter. Although we don’t usually share console news, we are really happy that Croteam decided to port Serious Sam 3 to consoles. After all, we love this game and today we can offer you some new information about those upcoming versions. According to Croteam themselves, the X360 version of Serious Sam 3 is planned for release in the next 4 months. After the release of the X360 version, the team will focus on the PS3 one. Back in April, Croteam and Devolver played a little joke to all Serious Sam 3 fans as they announced their – supposedly fake – plans for Serious Sam 3’s DLC. A lot of SS3 fans got disappointed when they found out that it was an April Fool’s joke. Croteam has released a new update for their action-ish FPS game, Serious Sam 3: BFE. This update comes with official Mac OSX support, as well as with cross-platform support between the Windows and the Mac builds. Moreover, the patch features various optimizations, fixes to memory leaks when re-importing the same mesh over an over in editor and support for multiple keyboards and mouses in split-screen on Windows.
