YouTube’s member ‘Jonz66’ made an interesting comparison video between Project CARS and Shift 2. Jonz66 captured footage from the Bathurst track and we can immediately notice some differences between them. In Shift 2, players wre complaining about the cars ‘sliding’ and thankfully for them, this sliding effect is not present in pCARs. In addition, both the lighting and the shadowing system seems better in Project CARS. Shift 2 wins when it comes to environmental detail but we should keep in mind that Project CARS is still in pre-alpha stage. Slightly Mad Studios have released some new, amazing screenshots for their arcade/sim racer, Project CARS. The company has released 44 shots, but we decided to choose only those that looked great. Since some of you have been asking this question, know this: the following shots show purely in-game footage that has not been made in any special photo mode with no post-processing or filters that aren’t available during the actual gameplay. In other words, Project CARS looks that good. And did we mention that one shot shows tire deformation? Enjoy! Continue reading New Project CARS Community Screenshots→

Fanatec have uploaded a pretty interesting video that hints at Porsches coming to a ‘new racing sim’ game. The footage was recorded in the pit Sebastian Vettel used on his last F1 GP at Hockenheim Ring and there was a test session for all Porsche Carrera Cup and Supercup teams and the introduction of a new racing simulation. Now if you look closely to the monitors, you’ll definitely notice Project CARS’ HUD. Not only that, but there are keyboards and mice on the ground, suggesting that this is actually a PC game. Slightly Mad Studios hasn’t denied it yet, so we can safely assume that Porsches are coming in Project CARS. In addition, we bring you today some new community shots from it. Enjoy! As we said in Friday, Slightly Mad Studios have released a new build for Project CARS that comes with some country tracks. Although we’ve shown you some, it’s to see one of those tracks in motion. YouTube’s member ‘Tandrusko’ decided to take his Jaguar and drive it around the Azure Coast. There are obviously some minor issues with the track – and some low-res textures here and there – but overall we’re impressed with what Slightly Mad Studios have added to the game. Enjoy everyone!
