I tell you guys, it’s all about lighting and textures. Project CARS had amazing car models with some of the best racing textures we’ve ever seen and the only thing that it was lacking was a better lighting system. As we’ve said a couple of days ago, the latest build features a new system and in order to showcase how close to real photos this game can look like, Slightly Mad Studios’ member ‘plm5’ captured some jaw dropping screenshots. This is as close to photorealism as we can get, so go ahead and drool all over them. Especially that Asano shot is… wow (although you can spot some flaws if you concentrate on the grass). Just, amazing! Continue reading Photorealistic Project CARS Screenshots→
As promised, MotoGamesTV uploaded some new footage from Slightly Mad Studios’ upcoming Test Drive game, Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends. This footage is from the X360 preview version and has ABS and TCS enabled (according to MotoGamesTV, those settings could not be turned off). The footage look really similar to the Shift series, although there seem to be some tweaks to the driving model. What really amazed me was the driver’s ability to avoid a 360 spin at the end of the clip. Now I don’t know if that was due to the assistance aids, but something like that was not possible in Shift 2. Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends looks promising and will be released this year on PC, X360 and PS3! Continue reading Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends gets new footage→

Moreover, Slightly Mad Studios revealed some new teasers for their – probably – upcoming country circuits that can be viewed below. Enjoy! MotoGamesTV and FTRRacingTv have released the first teaser gameplay footages for Slightly Mad Studios’ upcoming Test Drive game. Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends (previously known as Test Drive: Ferrari) won’t be similar to the Test Drive games that were developed by Eden Games. This new Test Drive game is similar to Need For Speed: Porsche Unleashed, which is good, right? Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends will be released this year on current generation consoles and PC. There is no doubt that Project CARS looks amazing, however, most of the game’s community members have been capturing external screenshots of its cars. Therefore, today we bring you some community cockpit shots from it (along with two gorgeous images from one of the game’s cars). Project CARS is getting better each and every week, and Slightly Mad Studios might add some country circuits at a later date. Keep an eye on it because this could very well be the best racing game of 2012. Special thanks to Rage3D’s member ‘Mahjik’ for bringing those shots to our attention. Enjoy! Earlier yesterday, we presented you some teasing shots of a supposedly new circuit for Project CARS, Slightly Mad Studios’ upcoming community-based racing game. Well, the company has released some new teasers of another country circuit that can be viewed below. Not only that, but when a fan wondered – at the game’s official FB page – what kind of cars would be racing on that particular circuit, the company responded and said that Lamborghini, Ferrari and Porsche cars could run on them. Although Slightly Mad Studios didn’t confirm anything, it’s pretty clear that the company wants to include this kind of cars in their racing game. Imagine that; a gorgeous sim game with Lamborghini and Ferrari cars. Take my money Slightly Mad Studios! Okay everyone, take a good look at the first screenshot because this is an in-game shot from an upcoming circuit of Project CARS. Seriously now, look at the ocean and the sky. I swear, when I first looked at it I thought that it was a real shot. But then I noticed the grass and the slightly blurred (and low-res) mountains in the background and realized that it was an in-game shot. Slightly Mad Studios have outdone themselves and this upcoming circuit looks amazing. Enjoy! Continue reading Slightly Mad Studios teases a new circuit for Project CARS→
