New Evidence Suggests That Source Engine 2 & Left 4 Dead 3 Are Currently Under Production

Reddit’s user ‘Tunesz’ has shared the following image, showcasing an internal change log at Valve that was captured during a recent tour of Valve’s Seattle office. According to the change log, Source Engine 2 and Left 4 Dead are currently under development, something that should not obviously shock us. After all, we’ve known for a while that Valve was working on a new version of its Source engine. On the other hand, Left 4 Dead 3 was hinted a couple of days ago by Valve’s Marc Laidlaw. Still, it’s good to see an almost official confirmation for both of them. Valve has not commented on this yet (and we don’t expect it to do so). Gabe Newell confirms that Source 2 Engine is under development

Great news everyone as Gabe Newell has confirmed that Valve is currently developing the next-generation version of its Source Engine. A couple of days ago, member of /v/ (aka 4chan) visited Gabe Newell to wish him happy birthday. 4chan’s members brought with them a huge birthday card and Newell had to pay $2.5 for the key to unlock it. After that hilarious event – and Newell wearing a combat helmet that was his birthday present – Valve’s co-founder talked a bit with the fans about the company’s plans. GoldenEye: Source v4.2 Released

Team GoldenEye: Source has released a new version for their Half-Life 2 mod, Goldeneye: Source. According to the team, GoldenEye: Source is a fan made recreation, released for free, with only one goal in mind; to bring the memories and experiences from the original GoldenEye64 back to life using Source Technology. Valvetime has revealed some pretty interesting new information, suggesting that Valve is currently developing the next-generation version of their versatile game engine, the Source Engine. Valvetime states that a member from Facepunch, GameDev, has pointed out that there are some new “Source 2 tools” icons stashed away in the Source Filmmaker files.
