Square Enix has released a new set of screenshots for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. In addition, the company revealed that the game is scheduled to enter the third phase of closed beta testing in June. Nixxes seems determined to fix all those issues that plague the PC version of Tomb Raider. That, or they don’t have any other project to work on. But anyway, the studio responsible for the Tomb Raider PC has released a new update that was meant to fix a problem introduced in the previous patch. Since this isn’t cool enough, though, the team has implemented a number of performance improvements that are specifically noticeable at higher quality levels. There is no denying that Sleeping Dogs is a great game.Yes, it had its issues but overall, it was a great title that lacked only one thing; a multiplayer mode. Well, just like with Just Cause 2, the modding community comes to the rescue and is currently working on a mod that will add a multiplayer mode to United Front Games’ open-world title. In an interview with StrategyInformer, EIDOS Montreal’s Stephane Roy revealed that the PC version of the upcoming Thief game won’t be a mere port or a copy of its console brother. According to Roy, the PC plays entirely different – thanks to its keyboard + mouse combo – and EIDOS Montreal will do its best to support this particular control scheme. Square Enix has announced that the second phase of closed beta testing for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on PC is now underway. Running across weekends throughout April, those lucky enough to get into this early beta phase will be able to explore the rich forest environments of the city state of Gridania, with new features such as PC gamepad support and personal Chocobo mounts, as well as brand new Full Active Time Events, now joining the beta fold. PlayStationAccess has posted a behind-the-scenes video for the new Thief game. This new game will be published by Square Enix and is being developed by the same team that was behind Deus Ex: Human Revolution, EIDOS Montreal. According to the development team, this new Thief will respect the classic title but will also be adapted to today’s expectations. It will be interesting to see whether EIDOS Montreal will be able to offer us a quality game similar to Human Revolution. Sweet Mary and Jesus. Last week, Square Enix revealed some sales numbers for Tomb Raider, Hitman: Absolution and Sleeping Dogs. Those numbers were described as estimates sales numbers, however it seems that they were the real numbers. Square Enix’s estimated numbers were higher than those reported, and according to a Japanese PDF report (coming straight from Square Enix), the company wanted to ship 5-6 million copies of Tomb Raider, 4.5-5 million copies of Hitman: Absolution and 2-2.5 million copies of Sleeping Dogs. Square Enix and EIDOS Montreal were planning to release the announement trailer of Thief later today. Unfortunately for them – and fortunately for all of us – the trailer has been leaked and you can view it below. Make sure to check it as soon as possible as Square Enix may take this link down. Although the trailer does not showcase any gameplay footage, we are pretty sure that all of its assets are from the game itself, meaning that Thief could look as good as this trailer.
