Tomb Raider – Survivor Trailer

Square Enix has released a new trailer for Tomb Raider that was showcased on this year’s VGA awards. This new trailer gives us a glimpse of what gamers can expect from this upcoming Tomb Raider game. Unfortunately, the scenes contained in it have already been shown on other trailers and videos, so don’t expect to see anything new. Square Enix to unveil a new title on December 12th

Our reader Sid Spyker has informed us about Square Enix’s upcoming, that is planned to be officially unveiled on December 12th. According to its teaser site, this game has something to do with stars. Therefore, we can assume that it is a new Star Ocean – or another, new space IP. It will also be interesting to see whether this game hits the PC, especially if it is a Star Ocean title. Unfortunately, the source code of the site does not contain any additional information or hints for it, meaning that we’ll have to wait – patiently – until December 12th. Hitman: Absolution – First PC Update Released

Nixxes Software and Square Enix have released the first PC patch for Hitman: Absolution. According to its release notes, this patch enables DX10 owners to use the simplest version of the Depth Of Field effect, fixes various startup issues, and addresses all problems with the Sniper Challenge Unlocks not carrying over into Hitman: Absolution. As the press release reads, Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix has entrusted the soundtrack of Tomb Raider to Jason Graves, winning composer known for his wonderful music for films, television and video games. Hitman: Absolution – PC Performance Analysis

Ah, Hitman: Absolution. A Square Enix game that is ported to the PC by Nixxes. Awesome, right? After all, Nixxes was behind the PC version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, a version that featured a lot of graphical options, a FOV slider, and took advantage of quad-cores. In all seriousness (and despite the fact that there was an annoying stuttering effect that was later fixed), Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a great PC port. Therefore, we were expecting Hitman: Absolution to blow us away. However, it did not. And did you know that the PC version suffers from console optimizations? Oh, you didn’t know that, right? New Tomb Raider Details – 12-15 SP Length, Regenerating health system, Lara can’t swim

Okay Tomb Raider fans, we got some good and some bad news for you today, as Crystal Dynamics global brand director, Karl Stewart, has answered a number of fans’ questions on his Twitter account. According to Karl, Tomb Raider will feature a regenerating health system and a Lara that will be unable to swim. How awesome is that, right? A Tomb Raider game in which our heroine regenerates (magically) her health and can’t swim. Oh the irony of crafting a game in a way to please casual gamers.
