Frictional Games and thechineseroom have released a new set of screenshots for their upcoming horror FPS title, Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs. And as you can obviously see, these new shots are as dark as they can possibly get. Which is a good thing as Amnesia relies on that setting and players are asked to play it with the lights off. Bad news for all Amnesia fans, as the game will not hit its initial Halloween release date. According to thechineseroom’s Dan Pinchbeck, the game has been pushed back to 2013 because the company needs more time to polish it. Pinchbeck believes that the game’s quality will benefit from a few more months’ work, therefore they decided to delay it. The Chinese Room has released the first patch for their unique indie game, Dear Esther. This patch comes with updated UI and fixes the graphics settings breaking visuals for some, as well as a crash when switching between high>low shader detail settings in-game. In a recent interview with Joystiq, Frictinal Games and The Chinese Room revealed what most of us were suspecting all this time. The two companies are joining forces for the next Amnesia title called ‘Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs’. This new Amnesia game is funded by Frictional Games, developed by The Chinese Room, and will be released some time before this year’s Halloween. But that’s not important. What’s really interesting here is that Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs will be filled with more terror, horror and paranoia. A few days ago, Justin Salih informed as about his new video for Dear Esther. Well, it was good but not THAT good, so we didn’t feature it. The soundtrack to upcoming indie game Dear Esther has already received plenty of acclaim, and today it is announced that the OST will see its own release via digital channels. Composer Jessica Curry created the haunting music and soundscapes for the original Dear Esther, an experimental Source mod released in 2008.
